Great local coffee spot! They serve Vita coffee, which is a very good local roaster, and they serve it at great prices. The space is also very cozy, and the turtle branding on the cups is cute :) A tip - After 2 p.m., Turtle offers all pastries for $1 with a drink purchase, so as to not let the pastries sit unused and stale. If you like afternoon coffee, take advantage of this, I routinely got an afternoon pastry + espresso for $4.25, a deal that can’t be beat. Try the dill scones! Most people overlook them, but they are delicious. On a more personal note, Turtle took over the original Caffe Vita location that had been here since 1993. Vita is a Seattle institution and I miss it a lot, but Turtle management took great pains to keep the Vita spirit alive - Vita beans are still served, Vita employees were kept on, and even the old wall with the classic Italian-clown art remains.
