Update, pretty sure they’re closed, just went by and empty as of 7/25/20, the sign on the door was not in English so I don’t know what it said. /////Extremely promising, but still room for improvement. I loved the black grape fruit tea with crema, so good. Went back for it again another day but it tasted very different, not nearly as good. Might have been that they were using red grapes? They didn’t tell me this until after they made my tea, had they told me it was red grapes I would have ordered another flavor. The red grapes weren’t as sweet and didn’t work very well. I had a different fruit tea another day with black tea but couldn’t taste the tea at all, the oolong has more flavor than the plain black tea, still the drink was pretty good. Also tried a matcha beverage and the matcha flavor wasn’t very strong. I tried a vintage black sugar boba with black tea and it tasted like watered down milk with boba - no tea flavor, so disappointing and it was not drinkable. If it’s supposed to be milk tea then the tea flavor needs to be much stronger. The drink also wasn’t sweet enough at full sugar. It had sugar in the drink name so I thought it would be sweet. The boba here are really sweet and yummy. Creme is probably the best creme I’ve had. Love the real and fresh ingredients. Cheesecake is delicious. Friendly staff. This tea shop however would benefit from being more consistent with drinks, and I think they really need to up the tea flavor and do some taste testing. They’re quite new and I’m sure are still working on things. Definitely worth...
Read moreHighest quality drinks, but that comes with a price. Literally. Prices here are very high but reasonable because of the high quality and authentic ingredients used here. You can taste any fruit or plant in your drinks. Milk tea isn't a big focus here, but I still enjoy the milk teas. Yan Tea mainly focuses on crema (cheese foam) and fruit teas.
I also love that they often introduce new drinks through their new arrivals list. They're always experimenting and bringing in seasonal options which is exciting. One major downside is that Yan Tea is definitely out of the way for college students, but still walkable.
Creme Strawberry Fruit Tea - a bit sour as a drink which I attribute to actual strawberries. When mixed, it creates a surprisingly interesting flavor of saltiness and sourness. However, I still wouldn't order this again.
Yogurt Avocado with Crunchy Boba - crunchy boba is just crystal boba. This drink was pretty sweet but tasted healthy due to the ingredients overtaking much of the drink.
Purple Yam Black Sugar Boba with Egg Yolk Cookie - the egg yolk cookie is at the top as part of the creama. Ube is super evident and you get chunks of it as you drink. Boba is sweet and chewy, but not too exceptional. As mentioned, Yan Tea does not specialize in the milk tea aspect so that's nothing special, but the authenticity in the...
Read moreOrdered a Strawberry & Blueberry Cheese Float and a Purple Yam Salted Egg Brown Sugar Boba Milk (yes, the name is that long).
The taste alone is worthy of 5 stars with a delicious and creative jumble of ingredients and a perfectly balanced Berry Cheese Float.
But however, the service was so undeniably terrible that I decided to rate this place one star.
First of all, there is a sign on the entrance saying one group at the time, for 5 minutes, there was disorder within the staff debating what one group means and it’s all chaotic.
Second of all, the cashier never greeted us and hazily explained to us what is inside the Purple Yam Salted Egg. Not to mention that they forgot to add boba, and we never received an apology or any sort of compensation.
Third of all, the QR code in the store for contacting costumer service was broken, and so there was no way of communication between the costumer and the owner besides Google Maps.
Because of the overwhelming negativity we received, and the unreasonable and superficial reviews Yan Tea have, the overall score averages to a 1.
If the owner does not reply to this, then it is apparent that the owner does not care of his/her own business and we will never come a...
