The food here is excellent, and the taro boba is amazing. My issue with this place is that 1. They rarely answer the phone for call-in orders. I have waited for 20+ minutes with the phone incessantly ringing. 2. When the phone is answered, I am asked to hold and the phone is set onto the counter while the person goes back to shuffling around. They are not helping other guests and they do not return to the phone. I have waited for 40 minutes like this before with the phone off the hook, listening to someone move around. Because of this I am never able to order dinner in time to take it home from work. Whomever is answering the phones needs to be re-trained on proper phone and customer service etiquette, because it is abysmal. I used to work at a resort where we would have lines out the door, have 10 people calling at once, be doing a check-in, and per QA we were still required to answer the phones and respond to guests on the phone in a timely manner. I am very disappointed in the service at this restaurant since I love boba and bento boxes and was excited to have it in town. Unfortunately, after 2.5 weeks of trying to get my meals on time and trying to make contact with the restaurant in general, I'm going to have to strike it from my weekly "go-tos." At least Dominos and Javelina Cantina answer their phones. Quality of food is only part of the equation for success- you have to value your customers and treat them like...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Cedic plaza in uptown Sedona for dinner. A few eateries but all heavy food except for Sono. It was also scorching hot at 107 degrees during the day and just cooled down to the 90s. So Sono hit the spot.
We got the chicken teriyaki bento box that came with double the amount of protein, half that portion in rice, one veggie egg roll, salad, and one macaroon.
This cost a whopping $17! They also serve boba and milk tea drinks but that’s a crazy $8.50. Seriously tourist mark up.
The wait was a bit long so we went into other shops nextdoor.
It was getting dark so we brought our food home to our Airbnb to eat. So hungry that I totally forgot to take a photo! Just know that the portion was perfect for or person or even two since I shared with mom.
The chicken was really good. Was not dry. Generous on the sauce. My mom said it reminded her of Vietnamese pork belly braised sauce. The eggroll was tasty and one of the better ones that I’ve had because it wasn’t overly packed with veggies. Macaroon was a great addition for dessert.
The fountain drink area was self serve. Cups included on the side so we just got a few cups of ice to bring back...
Read moreMy son and I stopped here today for lunch at his request. He was craving some 'American Chinese food' and boba....and I'm always down for some Asian.
The young man at the counter was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the difference between the boxes and the bowls to my son, helped him figure out what type of boba drink he wanted, and didn't make us feel rushed at all.
The ambiance is cute! The space is small, but well-used - as well as clean, bright, and cheery with pops of color all around. It's a fast casual style restaurant, which I hadn't realized before we arrived- but they pull it off well.
We ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box, orange chicken bento box, and thai iced tea with boba. The food came out surprisingly quickly, and I was shocked at how good it was! Really, everything was SO delicious, perfectly seasoned, and the macaron was a yummy little cherry on top.
Prices were high IMO, but I'm gathering that about this city in general- so not unexpected or unusual for the area. My son commented on the way out that this was the best boba he's ever had. We would...
