We ate at the Silver Saddle. Fist off, the hostess was A+ Impressive. (I forget her name, young Latina in glasses) She recommended it to us instead of the main dining room. She pulled out our table and seated us. Honestly, her mannerisms and attitude were MOST IMPRESSIVE and I must say as a former Michelin Class Fine Dining Server, she would be welcome on MY TEAM any day. We started with the Sampler and it was good with the exception of the well done bison sticks (yuck). The Cactus fries were AMAZING. Both the sausages were FANTASTIC. We both had Caesar salads (Chilled COLD and PERFECTLY made). We both enjoyed the prime rib. The portion looked to be about a pound and it was served with this really good Rosemary au ju. It appeared like the kitchen under-cooks beef which quite honestly, is my preference as well as most others who go out for steaks and prime. We had the orange cheesecake for dessert and it was presented very well and tasted like oranges.. I was a fan, my fiance wasn't. The presentation was really good. I like that it was unique and circular. The most amazing part of the whole evening I'm my eyes was the LIME TART served on surprise at the check presentation. I'm a tart Aficionado and this thing was TART. I loved IT! Also worth noting is that we received a complimentary mini appetizer of bruschetta upon being seated and in between our salad and entree we were presented with a sorbet palate cleanser. My only critz would be LEAVE THE CHARGER till the salad is cleared. It is nice having a clean table in front of you when the entree is presented. With all this being said I was not prepared in the slightest for this level of dining as I was wearing a polo shirt and jeans. I had never eaten here before, but you can rest assured that as a local I WILL RETURN. Our server was Adam and he had a perfect server disposition. Never seeming rushed, he handled the room well and was knowledgeable and fielded our request elegantly. Thank you Adam.
Good job guys. (And...

We had the choice of inside the restaurant, outside on their patio, or outside under their umbrellas, near the street. We chose under the umbrellas. Our waiter, Nathan C (I remember from the receipt), was very friendly, and very knowledgable. We started with the honey Duck Wings. Very good, but definitely an acquired taste, as your mind is automatically assuming you're biting into chicken. Only to realize that is not the case at all. Very good, but different from chicken wings. I wanted to try something different, so I went with the elk chops. My boyfriend got the full rack of baby back pork ribs. We also ordered a side of baked mac and cheese. The food.....the food was AMAZING. It was my first time trying elk, and I have to say I was a little skeptical after my mind played tricks on me with the duck wings. The elk was SO GOOD. I had it cooked medium. And it was cooked to perfection. The sweet potato mash, to die for. The asparagus was amazing. My boyfriend LOVED the ribs. But the star of last night (along with the elk) was the baked mac and cheese. I need to steal the recipe, because it was incredible. We don't live up in Sedona, but are not too far (in Phoenix)...so we will make it a point to come back the next time we visit. Thank you for a great experience. I also want to point out that we were there until after closing (9pm) and never once felt rushed to leave. All of the staff who passed by made it a point to speak and ask how we were doing as well. Just overall excellent...
Read moreVisiting Sedona again after a Western trip with our kids 30 years ago. Wow has this town changed! On our last visit we stayed at Arroyo Robles resort and walked up the hill to town. Then we could walk from one end of town to another. Now it takes 15-20 to leave Sedona.
Anyway then each of our three children got to choose the restaurant for dinner. Our son choose the Cowboy Club where they had Cactus Fries, Rattlesnake Ravioli and Buffalo Steak. Our girls cried and convinced Mom to take them to an Italian restaurant.
I was overjoyed to see that the Cowboy Club was still there! So my wife really needed to experience it now. We were seated right away, even though a busy lunch hour, given menus and brought water.
Looking over the selections, we decided to split the Appetizer Sampler to try a variety of things. And also split the Cowboy Up Burger.
Our sampler came soon. We both enjoyed the Cactus Fries, hot and crispy. We both loved the Rattlesnake Sausage, tender and juicy with a little bite. My wife enjoyed the Bison Brochettes but I found mine to be very tough and hard to chew.
The flatbread was also warm and tasty and the perfect complement for the homemade peanut butter also on platter. Our Cowboy Up Burger came and was delicious, especially the Jalapeño Cheese sauce.
A nice lunch overall. But as we left my wife spotted a huge multi-layered Carrot Cake being served to a table. Had we been shown a dessert menu, we would doubtless have ordered it but was not aware of it in time.
In our 70s I doubt we will make it back for another 30 year anniversary but maybe one of our girls will...
