My DISABLED husband and I always go to this Shoney's at Forks Of The River. We have a service dog and have always been welcomed here UNTIL TODAY! We walked in today and the little server started to sit us at a table. I asked for a booth because it's easier for my husband. Their were five opened booths in the front dinning room but for some reason she took us to an unopened dinning room and the proceeded to read off a list of "rules" about our service dog which has NEVER happened at this restaurant. I started to explain to her that we always come here and she always behaves she is a service dog!!!! She knows how to act and NO ONE who has a service dog would EVER feed their dog from the table and she also informed me that they would not bring water for my dog! Of course she wouldn't need it because I feed her and gave her water before we came. BUT as I have said before we had been to this one all the time and last time we were there the server voluntarily brought water for her. Hmmm that's funny. Anyway we tell her what we want to drink and the Buffett. She brought the drinks and then my husband heard her tell someone " I stuck them in the corner" which highly upset my husband. I was still just eating my salad when a DIFFERENT server came in and brought us the bill??? Ok so now you are rushing us. Of course no one ever came back to our table. My husband needed more tea so I got up and flagged someone down. They filled his glass without even any ice. So we got up and left. No tip and I'm big on tipping. But oh well treat us like humans and maybe I would have left u a tip. WILL...
Read moreWhile visiting today they had chicken stuffing on the buffet, I was quite disappointed when I started eating it and I found strips of chicken skin in the stuffing. The way the chicken skin looked in the stuffing, it looked so disgusting. I then tried eating a piece of the chicken from the stuffing, and I couldn't believe how dry and tough the chicken was. It was like someone used left over chicken to make the stuffing. I figured I would then try some of there pork chops from the buffet, now this really had my concerns. When I found the pork chops on the buffet, there where three bowls on the buffet that contained two pork chops per a bowl. I was shocked to not see them in a pan and actually staying warm on the steam table. This was as I suspected, the pork chops where cold and because they became cold they where very tough. So now out of all the disappointments that I figured I would try their fried chicken. While I was standing in the line at the buffet I saw a customer before me who was using the food tongs looking at the fried chicken and I saw disappointment on his face. I knew then the fried chicken was a no go. Yep, I could tell just looking at the fried Chicken it was all dried out. The only thing I finally found that seemed reasonably good was their soup beans, after having a bowl I had enough. I would have given more stars overall but I kind of felt for the amount I was paying for the buffet and the food that was being served...
Read moreI felt like having a salad today, so I went to this location just to get the cold salad bar. I had to check the doors to make sure they were actually open, because there was nobody in the parking lot. I should have taken that as a sign, but they had decent reviews, so I went in. I was ignored upon entering, even though there were at least 6 employees, standing around talking to each other. I finally got someone's attention, & was seated. Then I was ignored for another few minutes, until the only employee who seemed to be working, stopped sweeping the floor & waited on me. The iceberg lettuce needed to be replaced, but I managed to pick out just enough, to make a small salad. The food was ok, but while I was eating, a couple of the employees started checking the salad bar items, coughing as they did so. They did cover their mouths, but with Covid & the Flu going around, they should have been wearing masks while around the food. The rest of the employees continued to chat with each other, instead of helping to get the restaurant ready for the dinner rush. My waitress only came once to drop off my check, but never asked if I needed anything else. I realize Shoney's isn't one of the best restaurants in the area, but being their only customer, at the time, I thought I'd at least be treated better than I was. I definitely...
