New to the area and thought we'd give Focaccia's Cafe & Catery a try for crepes as a little treat. The outside seating was packed so we thought it was the place to go. Inside there was one person working the front making special coffees for the crowd outside. There were at least 3 other workers but no one came up to help or even acknowledged the line waiting to order. We waited in line for at least 10 minutes to place our order while another customer turned and walked out after his long wait. Finally got the crepes - Nutty Banana and Peanut Butter Cup. We took them home which is a 2 minute drive. What a huge disappointment. The Peanut Butter Cup was basically a flat pancake (yes I know that is what a crepe is) with a brown smear - which was the chocolate - on a little more than 1/2 of the crepe, drizzled with a small amount of peanut butter on top. I could not taste the chocolate or peanut butter it was such a small amount. This was over $6 !! The Nutty Banana had a little more to it but only because you can't smear a teeny bit of banana on it. There were small slices of banana, a small smear of nutella and a small drizzle of peanut butter on top. That was over $7! I don't even remember the exact prices because I told the girl I did not need my receipt. We both took about 3 bites and trashed the rest after unfolding it to see exactly what was inside. We have both had crepes many times, I have even had them in Paris so I know what to expect. This was a huge disappointment. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. We should have walked out with the customer that decided it was not...
Read moreOn Thursday, I called at 4:30 PM to ask if they still sold bagels that late. The woman who picked up the phone told me that they did and I told her I would be right over to get one. I arrived at 4:40 PM to find out the door has been locked Even though the sign outside says that they close at 5 PM. The woman who could see me through the glass doors, just waved me off and couldn’t be bothered to come to the front to speak to me. I just got off the phone with the manager Adriana, who is beyond incompetent. After getting through the first woman who I spoke to who needed to know what I was calling about to even get to the manager. I told Adriana what was happening and she told me that it was a privately owned business and yeah, sometimes her staff leaves early. She does not seem to care about the customer at all and even when as far as to suggest that I go somewhere else if I’m not happy with the way, she runs her business. This is not a place that should be patronize, because clearly the management/owner does not care about it’s customers. I have worked in restaurants for over 20 years and i’m literally in shock about how horrible the manager/owner is and how she deals with her business. Definitely spend your money elsewhere if you want to be valued as a customer. There are many other wonderful businesses in Shelton who do a much better job. Don’t waste your time...
Read moreMy experience at Focaccias cafe was a disaster, and it's all thanks to our server, Adrianna. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that she was having a bad day - or maybe she just didn't care. Orders were mixed up, drinks took forever to arrive, and when we politely asked for corrections, Adrianna rolled her eyes and sighed audibly. The food was mediocre at best, but the service was downright abysmal. With so many other great restaurants in the area, there's no way I'd recommend Focaccias to anyone, especially if Adrianna is working. I was thoroughly disappointed with my recent visit to Focaccia Cafe. The food was subpar, but what really made our experience unbearable was the horrific service from our server, Adrianna. She was inattentive, dismissive, and seemed completely disinterested in ensuring our needs were met. Orders were incorrect, requests were ignored, and the overall attitude was one of annoyance and frustration. For a restaurant that claims to pride itself on customer satisfaction, the service we received from Adrianna was a glaring exception. Needless to say, we will not...
