Used to love it here but not anymore. It was always a standard, reliable place for food at a good price point and the beer selection is ace.
However, my last two experiences have been horrible. After my last experience, which I made a complaint about afterwards mostly because I didn't get the points for my loyalty card, I was skeptical. It was a poor experience and service wasn't good, but they also seemed busy. I went back now after a few months because I got sent a coupon for a free pizza so I went to use it. What a mistake. Took forever to get our beers, ordered an app and a pizza and they came out within minutes of eachother, so the pizza sat there getting cold while we finished the nachos (I had specifically said we wanted the nachos first, too). The waitress never checked back with us and ignored my husband when he tried to flag her down. Finally he asked for a second beer after we were able to get the waitress' attention and it took so long that we finished our food. My husband tried to tell the waitress to forget the beer but she ignored him again. When she came over with the beer he told her we didn't want it anymore and that it was ridiculous. She didn't say anything and walked away.
When she came back she never said another word. She just tossed down the check and left. I went up to ask for a pen and she tossed that down and walked away from me. When she came back to get the check she grabbed it and left. As she was walking away we asked her if she was really just not going to say anything and she said "I'm done." We had to ask for a manager as she was walking away.
I don't know if Parrys just doesn't have front of house managers or if this was a pointed decision but the waitress sent us the manager for the back of house. She was super nice, but it was really strange to not be talking to a manager for front of house. What a waste of time. I've never asked for a manager before in my life, btw. We paid the bill and left and I just won't go back anymore. I went out to relax because of a hard day at work and instead I had to deal with a silly experience. I should have just...
Read moreI gave this place a great review a year ago and would've ranked it as one of my favorite places to go for a night out. My wife and I used to go 1-2 times per week, every week. We went enough that we knew the people who worked there. We liked it so much I had my birthday there a couple years ago. But this Parry's came under new management about a year ago and the standards took a nose dive. They stopped doing events that previously made Parry's fun (like the pint nights) and the service has gotten terrible.
I decided to delete my old review and write this one because of my experience tonight. We waited around 20 minutes for our orders to be taken, then waited another 20 for drinks, then 40 for our food. Our server didn't come back after the food was delivered (no checking on whether it was ok or whether we needed something else). I wanted a second pint, so I flagged her down and ordered one. I waited another 10 minutes. When the drink didn't come I managed to get her attention again and said that I wanted to cancel the drink and just get the check becaused we'd finished eating. She didn't say anything to that, or when she brought the check, or when she was taking the check away. It was obvious that she was giving us the silent treatment, so I said, "excuse me, are you not going to speak to us?" She responded by saying "I'm done," and storming off. The long waits were annoying, but getting the silent treatment and having a server say "I'm done" after I tried to be patient and didn't complain about anything (aside from canceling my second drink order) will make this one of my most memorable restuarant experiences for reasons that will make me avoid ever going back.
In summary, it used to be one of my favorite places, now I won't go back. Don't make the same mistake I did: go...
Read moreRead morePizza tasted great . . . when I actually got it! TMI Alert! Hubby took son, son's wife & 4 kids, and me for pizza. 3 kids' meals and parents' meals delivered OK, but forgot the kids' ice cream dessert - their mom reminded the server... BUT hubby & I sharing pizza on gluten-free crust received a pizza long after everyone else's meals THEN, it was NOT on a gluten-free crust. Server had to get management because she wasn't able to do anything about it. Quite a while before correct order came. While I was able to get a knife (gluten-free crusts often need coaxing), from kitchen-delivery-person, not server, I could NOT get a fork - so, I whipped one out of my travel-purse (curly floral handle, so never confused with restaurant-wear). The grandkids had to get home to bed before hubby & i could finish eating, and I dashed to restroom as they left ... hubby kept eating away as server brought check, and took my plate with food on it AND my travel fork - really a shortie, salad fork, fit well in travel bag pocket. Poor me, hubby didn't notice, and i never got my little fork back. I am usually positive about servers if they just smile (see my reviews), and I have had some of the best. Servers make an eatery memorable and we respect & appreciate their service. Unfortunately, this server may have been very young, new, untrained, inexperienced - but she was also just unfriendly. Probably in the wrong business. I am not local, so only in town to visit grands, but don't think you will catch me back in Parry's. Mgmt needs to evaluate hiring practices and/or training. Food, again, was tasty! It's a taproom, so it's noisy. (Go ahead, play the tiny violin...😪 and laugh, it is funny/ridiculous when...
