February 2024 Review....A few years ago, I wrote a glowing 4 star review for Biryani and Grill (then known as Sri Krishna Villas), captivated by their exceptional service and culinary delights. It's with a heavy heart that I revisit my assessment today, as my recent experiences paint a starkly different picture. While their offerings remain decent, it's evident that the management and operational aspects have significantly deteriorated.
The establishment seems to lack professional oversight, a fact that becomes glaringly obvious from the moment you interact with their front desk—or rather, the lack thereof. On numerous occasions, the staff, who should be greeting and assisting customers, were instead found engrossed in movies at the bar, neglecting their duties. This lapse in customer service is not just disappointing but also impacts the overall dining experience.
Our orders have been consistently incorrect, a frustration that has recurred at least four times. Requests for paneer tikka resulted in receiving chicken tikka, and asking for butter naan somehow translated to bullet naan. Such errors in order fulfillment demonstrate a lack of attention to detail and customer care, leading my family and I to decide against patronizing Biryani and Grill henceforth.
Despite the quality of their food, the prime location, and ample parking, the lack of professional management overshadows these positives. Regrettably, based on these recent experiences, I can only justify a rating of 2 stars for Biryani and Grill. It's disheartening to witness such a decline, and I hope for future improvements that might one day restore the establishment's former glory. Review from 2021......Finally a decent restaurant at this location after so many years. The ambiance is good, so is the quality and taste. We tried the lunch Buffett and they had decent vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian options. Looking forward to visiting again to try a’...
Read moreWe were a group of 20+ people who made advanced reservation and went there on Jan1st New Year’s Day around 1.30pm (these guys close after 3pm) for lunch buffet. I loved the grill stuff they brought to us to the table which were different kinds of grilled chicken. I barely tasted a super tiny popcorn sized fish pakora and they didn’t have any after. They also got veg pakoras which were ok. It took over an hour plus to get rotis or naan to our table. After a long wait I gave up and I didn’t bother to have any rotis and settled with jeera rice to taste some of their curries. All the desserts were also gone with no signs of replacement despite going quite early to their buffet. None of the grilled seafood items were available. Basically paid a buffet price for selective few grilled chicken stuff that came to our table. All the other stuff that you serve yourself at the buffet stand were very sub nominal in taste except one grilled chicken appetizer which tasted similar to chicken 65. Their biryanis were all Tamil Nadu flavored and style which in no form or shape looked or tasted like biryanis at all. It’s basically chicken and mutton curry rice mixed and served as biryanis. Their gongura mutton was ok amongst the curries. But being a Tamil Nadu based ownership, I was surprised at the nasty dal they served. I couldn’t believe how terrible a simple dal could be made. All other veg curries were an easy pass and very sub nominal as well.. My cousin raved about this place and took me here for our get together but all in all it was meh.. Trying once is good enough.. Won’t pay a buffet price for the very few items...
Read moreNew Indian place in Smyrna neighborhood, was told this location had Aachis earlier. The restaurant looks great from out and interiors are well done, has grilling station in evEry table. We were group of 5, visited on Friday lunch time for the buffet. Was told the soft opening was a week back, and that Friday lunch was the maximum foot count they had. clearly they were totally not sorted, got the table after few minutes wait, no napkins were on the table nor in buffet area.
Buffet options were minimal, not until the second serving did we know that they server kebabs to the table like the breads! Although we got the kebabs only once in an hr or so! Buffet had 3 types of biryani, chicken/mutton keema and veg, chicken one was good, rest two were average. The curries, there was mutton vindaloo, was on a sweet note, not to my liking, the mutton pieces were not great too, so many potatoes, was a turn off. Chicken chettinad was ddecent, there was one more chicken semi gravy, pieces had so much batter. Then there was masala butter milk, was very good. The kebabs served to the table, were good, malai kabeb and lamb, but we never got a second serving after asking for it 3 times, only to be told it's coming I in few minutes.
On top of this , 18% gratuity is added by default, on 15.99 $ price tag for the lunch buffet! Disappointing experience overall.
Will I go again? Well, maybe for alacarte , definitely not...
