Well, it’s the first place I ever saw snow at a ski resort back in 2015 with the veterans national winter sports clinic. I moved to the mountains because of it, left my live aboard sailboat docked and moved to the snow. I met my wife because of that and have become a professional adaptive skier. Every year I come back. The people and the magic are there, every time. You can either party with the 20 somethings or you can go have a fancy dinner, or a regular dinner quickly and quietly. So your options are whatever you want. Every business there was super helpful and if they did not know or have what you needed, they would point you to the business that did. No other place that I have skied in the world has the magic that Snowmass has been able to capture, it is just unmatched anywhere. Read moreFor most Snowmass skiers, the mall is where the day starts. Buses from the valley and Aspen bring you right there, and the slopes are only a few hundred yards walk. It really couldn't be easier.
The mall itself is well-kept, clean, and overall just a pleasant place to spend some time. There are a variety of ski shops, restaurants, and shops to enjoy, and nothing is really very far from anything else. I do wish there was a catwalk across the second floor on both ends, though - depending on the shop, you either have to go down, across the mall, and back up, or walk all the way around to get from one side of the promenade to another. This is dicey at best with snow/ice on the ground near the steps during the winter.
