My boyfriend and I would go to Papagyos every other weekend for date night after hitting up AMC theaters.. So when this location closed we were definitely sad about it, but excited because we heard there was a new restaurant opening up in this location with a similar menu. We accidentally popped in two nights before the grand opening, we saw people in there so we assumed they were open. Turns out we walked into a training session for the staff. We asked a couple of questions and got amped up for their official grand opening that Friday. Left saying we definitely would be back this week coming to try out the new restaurant.. Well Saturday came , walked in 3 hostesses greeted us and " do you have a reservation " No, we never made one in the past ... They offered us to sit at the bar , but weren't able to accommodate us on sitting at one of the the average 20 plus open tables available.. Again said we could sit at the bar.. We refused that option, being sobriety focused we just were there to enjoy the food. So again we declined to sit at the bar. I've never felt so dismissed before by a restaurant.. and if they were packed with guests and there wasn't more than 20 tables available I wouldn't of even wrote a review... Too wannabe Boujee ... I went to a different actual Boujee place right around the corner, was seated right away and got me $ 28/30 steak...

Read moreI was searching for a unique dining experience, and this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. Upon stepping inside, I was instantly enveloped by a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors and an invitingly spacious atmosphere. The drink menu was a delightful adventure in itself; the cocktails were not only refreshing but also beautifully crafted. Several flights are available to help you explore different flavors if you're feeling adventurous.
We started our meal with the short beef sliders, which were nothing short of sensational—perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor, especially when paired with the zesty chimichurri sauce. The empanadas that followed were equally impressive, golden-brown, and flaky, accompanied by more delectable chimichurri that wonderfully complemented them.
Our exploration of the menu continued with a dish of ceviche that was fresh and zesty, offering a bright and tangy contrast to the rich flavors we'd sampled so far. However, the true star of the meal was the roasted chicken, elegantly presented on a bed of sweet corn. This dish was simply exceptional; the chicken was perfectly cooked, its succulent flesh infused with a symphony of incredible flavors that lingered on the palate. Overall, the experience was a feast for the senses, leaving me eager to return for more...

Toca Chida Casa Sociale is a delightful addition to Assembly Row! From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant atmosphere and chic decor set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance is lively and inviting, making it a perfect spot for gatherings with friends and family.
The tableside guacamole is a must-try! Watching it being prepared fresh at our table added a fun and interactive element to the meal. The guacamole was creamy, well-seasoned, and paired wonderfully with their house-made chips.
The cocktail menu is equally impressive. I tried the Poblano Escobar, a unique blend of Ghost tequila, cucumber, poblano pepper, cilantro, lime, and chili dust—it was refreshing with a subtle kick. The Tormenta Tropical was another favorite, combining Pusser’s rum, Montenegro, lime, passion fruit, and Angostura bitters for a tropical delight.
Service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations.
With its creative dishes, excellent cocktails, and vibrant setting, Toca Chida is a must-visit in Somerville. I’m already looking forward to...
