Visited this place in March. Walked in and you order at bar. Staff wasn’t very welcoming, but decent enough for us to stay. Ordered 4 burgers and fries. We prob should have sat away from under the covered patio because bees were very annoying. Took 45 min to get burgers. 2/4 burgers were good. The other two were completely burnt- burnt beyond being edible. Hard as a rock. One side only was basically like this. Took them back, showed staff, by looks on their faces they agreed and took back to cook. 40 min later we have burgers and a handwritten note placed next to burgers that read burgers are grilled not burnt. Take back and by then I guess owner/ manager Amy intervened, didn’t seemed bothered by note left. In all fairness I wrote a note back stating I knew what grilled burgers looked like, and this wasn’t it. Petty I know, but Amy threw it away and I asked for refund on 2/4 burgers. She came back and said she would refund in cash, cool. Comes back again and because of how the registers were closed out according to Amy, they refunded back to card the entire $67, and we needed to pay for two of the burgers again because they refunded all. We checked my husband’s account using app, and the first payment was still not pending. We told her we didn’t feel comfortable paying again (no cash on hand) and we’d be leaving island next day and hopefully we’d see the entire $67 and then would come back and pay for 2 burgers in cash. She didn’t seem satisfied with this and we explained if they refunded, yes it can take 2-3 business days, but without seeing the first payment even in a pending status we would check following morning. I explained to her I just had a refund processed same day from another place and she asked me to show her my bank account using app, which I did to prove a refund can be done same day and shown on statement when using credit and not necessarily debit. She asked us if we had same bank which we do. All this over two burnt burgers, a grumpy cook who apparently is the lone self professed grill master, and I just wanted a refund, but instead had to do this all while standing there listening to the live music of a gentleman playing his guitar. Wish I read reviews prior because burnt burgers seem to be a thing here. Settled for Whataburger which never fails, but next time we’re trying Burger-Fi! I’ll read the reviews then to...

Cute establishment right off the boardwalk! Service however.. not so much!

Awful.. had to order at the bar, waited about 20 minutes right in front of the register to be served. Is was not busy at all had one other couple at the bar. The bartender proceeded to serve his friends rather that taking our order. When he did finally get to us, I ordered a Jamaican freeze, Pacifico, grilled shrimp kabob basket and a shrimp and fish basket. The total was $56.00

I was served a strawberry daiquiri.. didn’t even bother to complain… We were told to sit and they would bring the order out. We watched the OWNER bring everyone else’s food to their table. And when our order was ready, we were yelled at from the bar by name. No problem, got up, got our food. When we got the baskets, there was one pice of dried up fish, 4 shrimps and a bag of lays, the other was 4 bacon wrapped shrimp on a kabob, and potato chips. The orders were supposed to come with fries. I took the baskets back to the counter to ask why we were served lays, they said they ran out of fries. Why weren’t told that prior to ordering is beyond me.. so I asked for a manager, I was told the manager wasn’t available. I then proceeded to ask for a refund and was told they couldn’t issue a refund. I waited a few minutes and spoke with another employee and asked him if a manager was available. He said a manager wasn’t there, but the owner “big boss” was the one who served me at the bar. I went back and told him “you’re the owner right?” He looked me dead in the eye and said “no”. I then spent another 10 minutes arguing with him, turns out he is the owner… He finally issued me the refund, went straight to the register, opened it, and gave me cash back. He then grabbed the VERY SAME baskets I handed back to him, after we had the food sitting outside and passed from multiple hands… and served the exact same baskets, to a table that was waiting for their order. I’m not sure about you, but I would not be happy if I paid over $50 just to be served someone else’s food, that they touched. Please be aware and observant when visiting this establishment. Very unprofessional and just out...

Beautiful spot for a sunset dinner. I personally like the, "order at the counter" service and found all the workers to be friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good but I could've done with some kind of sauce on my jerk chicken sandwich which was otherwise a little dry. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would give five stars but the food came out on, "island time" meaning that some food came out much quicker than others. Again, this may be because we placed three orders at the counter, one after the other, rather than one big order. Absolutely not a deal breaker but definitely an area for improvement. I would definitely go again!

Our first time in South Padre, we came across Coconut Jack's. There was no one there. I don't know maybe because it was a Monday? All I do know is that the food was so good. Coconut Shrimp, Fried Fish, Salmon burger and regular burger. The salmon was moist. The shrimp were big and each one with side of fries. This the first time my husband didn't complain there were not enough fries. lol. Abe was polite and accommodating. We would definitely go again and do recommend it. Oh and the view of the Sunset was spectacular. Thank you Abe for making our first day an enjoyable one.
