Blind Onion is my family’s favorite pizza so we frequently eat at this location. My Sister In-Law reserved a table for our party of nine Adults and four children days before our visit tonight. We were there celebrating my Brother In-Law’s Birthday. They sat us in the back room which was great. We sat down at 4:50PM and placed our order by 5:05PM since we have little kids that were hungry. Anyone with kids knows that timing is essential for ordering when you are out to eat so you can feed them so they will behave. Our group ordered three large pizzas(one Cheese, one half cheese and Hawaiian, one half Hawaiian and Meat Lover), one Small pizza (pepperoni), two salads and one order of wings. The wings and salads came at 5:45pm. At 5:55PM I got up and went to the front and asked if our plain cheese was almost done because my three year old son was crying because he was hungry. When I was up front our waitress was just standing in the back leaning up against the wall. I also looked around the restaurant and there were many open tables. We finally got our pizzas at 6:05PM. Our waitress brought out our two large and one small pizzas. My Brother In-Law asked our server where the third pizza was. The server looked confused and left and then came back and said that the kitchen had dropped the pizza and they were putting another one in the oven. Twenty minutes later the third pizza came out and they started to eat. My Sister In-Law asked for a knife so we could cut the cake. Five minutes went by and our server came back. She told us that she would need us to leave because the 7:00PM reservation was there and needed the table. We nicely told her that we had just received the third large pizza and we were finishing eating it. She rudely commented back that it was not her fault that she did not make the reservation for the next party of people so we would need to go. We told her that is was not our fault that we had been there for an hour and a half and had just received our final pizza and once we finished it then we would leave. Even though we were in the back room there were three open long tables. Due to our circumstances of just receiving our pizza we would have thought that we would have been treated differently because it was the kitchens fault for dropping the pizza. Not to mention that there were many open tables in the restaurant and the next reservation arrived thirty minutes early. The manager came over a few minutes later and rudely told us that she needed us to leave because the next reservation was there and could she take any of our finished plates. We told her that we were finishing our pizza and we would leave once we were done so we didn’t need any plates taken. The manager rudely argued with our entire party and made it sound that it was our fault that we were there still finishing our third large pizza. I have never heard a manager talk so disrespectfully to the customer. She never took any fault for her kitchen messing up and dropping our pizza and then having to remake it. If she had proper training on talking respectfully and treating her customers like they are appreciated when they were treated badly for waiting I would be writing a nice review. Instead I am only giving Blind Onion Los Altos a one star for the worst service I have ever had in my life. As a paying customer we should have been spoken to differently. Shame on you manager for your poor communication skills and closed minded thinking. You need to learn that kindness and taking fault goes a long way. Not to mention that you screwed up our bill by charging us the wrong amount for a pizza and again acting like it was our fault. I refuse to ever give you any...
Read moreIn the age of COVID-19 we go out of our way to support other local businesses. We went through the formalities of making a reservation and tonight was our first outing with our newborn and the in-laws. We quickly placed our order, our bill was $33, I handed over $40 cash and was happy for them to keep the change, the young man seemed very thankful.
We were told to sit wherever we wanted, we were literally the only customers and table in the restaurant. 30 minutes goes by and we're all wondering where our pizza might be, while watching the young guys play on their phones and practice their secret handshake/high fives. Certainly a single pizza couldn't take THIS long we thought. Eventually one of us goes to ask if maybe it was sitting up there and we needed to come grab it (things are always changing with this COVID nonsense).
This is where it fell apart. The workers say the order ticket must not have printed, they don't know what happened, they have to re-place the order in their computer etc. So, somehow, with upwards of 8 employees in the establishment, nobody realized the ONE TABLE they had, was just sitting there for a half hour, and thought "hey, kinda weird they're just sitting there with drinks and not eating huh?".
Eventually we get our pizza dropped of, no napkins, plates, silverware, ranch, honey, nothing. That gets corrected and we begin to eat.
10 minutes later a guy walks in to pick up his to go order and we watch the same kids telling him they have no record of it, he "must have called another store" and proceed to take ~10-15 minutes to get his next order into their computer. I've never watched someone type so much into an iPad to order a pizza before in my life. It's as though every ingredient must have been hand typed, as well as the baking procedure, cutting procedure and boxing procedure.
Astonished is all I can say. At least we got to listen to the kids in the back screaming (not singing, if that's singing lord help us all) the words to "santa claus is coming to town", that was a real treat.
I really hate having to write this review, Blind Onion has been a favorite of ours for years, but the last two trips have been quite similar. You figure once is a fluke, twice though? It would be hard to do...
Read moreI usually love this place but tonight not so much. They were a bit busy with take out orders & had a sign saying they were short staffed so i didn't mind the extra wait for our pizza. That being said... i ordered garlic bread, a medium pizza & 2 soft drinks totaling $40. The waitress brought out the pizza but not the bread, i asked about the bread and she said it was coming out and not to worry. So we continued with our meal and didn't bug them about it again. The pizza wasn't as good as i remembered, my granny said it was soggy but my toddler and i were so hungry since it was now 730pm and they do have good ranch for doing. After finishing our pizza, clearing the table and packing up both my kids (toddler and infant) I took the receipt up to the counter to just ask for a refund for the $10 garlic bread. The girl behind the counter didn't acknowledge i was standing there and kept going to the back. The gentleman that originally took my order asked what he could do to help. I said "i know that you are busy but we never got my bread and i would like..." the girl came up cute my off and said she had put it in the warmer for me. They never explained why it wasn't brought to the table. Idon't ever leave bad reviews but i had 2 little ones ready for bed and didn't want to stand around arguing over $10 so I took the bread and left. Now I know they were a bit busy but I just can't wrap my head around why it was put in the warmer instead of bright...
