Groucho's Deli — Restaurant in Spartanburg

If the star was not required I would not even give them one. My family and I went there to eat for the first time. The waitress took our drink order only to come back to tell me they didn't have Pepsi. That was fine. Then I asked her if they had something like an Italian hoagie. She did not know so I scanned the menu and found something comparable. It gave a ham or turkey option and I asked for ham. When my sandwich came out it was just a turkey sandwich without the salami, bologna, and etc. I could live with a turkey/ham mix up, but this wasn't even the sandwich I ordered. I sent it back and showed her on the menu the one I had ordered. In the meantime my husband and daughter ate theirs. My husband said his was good and the PB&J my daughter got was of generous size. The waitress told me they were making my sandwich and it would be out soon. I thanked her and said that was fine. As my husband was finishing his she came out to tell me they didn't have the ingredients to make the sandwich I had ordered. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no I did not. We finished and went to pay. They made a bunch of excuses at the register. I told them they should put a sign up saying what you couldn't order due to their shortage and that we just wanted to pay so I could go eat elsewhere. I have been going to Groucho’s since I was in college and love their sandwiches and sweet tea. I never had issues before today. Today’s experience at this Groucho’s really soured my love for this place. Went in today around 11:10am with my husband, but was ignored for many minutes due to an employee named Anna that was in charge of taking dine-in orders blatantly ignoring us. They walked by our table multiple times to help tables around us. They proceeded to finally go up to their other coworker (wearing blue hoodie) and said something to them while pointing at me and my husband. This coworker came up to us to get our drink orders, but when they got back to do that, they got held up with taking orders for carry out stuff. In the end, my husband and I went up to the register to get in line to order our food. I appreciate the blue hoodie employee for willing to do their job and not ignore us. I am disappointed that the service is horrendous and clearly Anna refuses to serve customers because of their own personal views getting in the way...

Went for dinner because of all the great reviews but likely won’t be back. We mentioned to the waitress that we’d never been before and she just said ‘oh okay’ but did recommend two popular items when we explicitly asked. Didn’t write down the order which was as simple as it gets and did not get it correct. We had to ask for more tea every single time we needed a refill (one time was 90% ice and essentially no drink but still had to ask again for more tea), salt and pepper, napkins - basically anything we needed as a basic necessity to have a meal, we had to explicitly ask for over numerous trips to the table or had to get up and ask for while the waitress sat behind the counter on her phone the entire time. There were two tables - us and two people sitting outside. The food itself was good, just not what we told the waitress was what we wanted. I worked in restaurants for a long time and absolutely hate leaving bad reviews but going out to eat is about the experience and this one...
