Caruso’s was an okay experience. The interior and outside seating is plentiful and nicely decorated, and would be a great place to hang out and have lunch with some family or friends. I got the full size Italian Stallion sandwich, which was really good. I was expecting a normal foot long sub size and price, but it was way larger than I thought it would be, and was 15 dollars. It was very good though, definitely one of the best subs around Gonzaga’s campus. There are a few things I didn’t like though. The first has started happening at a few places around town, where they ask you if you’d like to tip the cashier. I’d get it if I was being waited on, but asking if I’d like to tip you after 20 seconds of taking my order is a little much. In addition, although it seemed like it was an organized place, really nobody looked happy at all, more like everybody was really bored or tired of being there. I get it, long days, just made for kind of an uncomfortable feel. Overall a good place to eat, a bit pricey, but I know they do have fresh ingredients. If I were a student trying to save some money though, i probably wouldn’t eat here often.

We live in Coeur d’Alene and have enjoyed Caruso’s for years, so we've wanted to check out the Division location for awhile now. The atmosphere and design of this Caruso's far exceeds the CDA locales. Both this building with its vintage beauty, and the restaurant's design are really inviting, and ultimately are what grabbed our attention everytime we've driven by. We purchased two items; the Lloyd garden sandwich (there's a rumor this sandwich is named after legendary film instructor, Lloyd Duman from North Idaho College ;) and the other a simple Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza. The sandwich was great, and the pizza had perfect crust. We did feel the pineapple could of been better as it obviously came from a can, and the Canadian bacon wasn't that amazing either. But on the whole, the service was really friendly and someone came by to bring our daughter some crayons and a coloring page which was really nice. For a good lunch or happy hour, we can definitely see ourselves coming back once the weather warms up for a nice evening enjoying a beer on their firelit patio.

This was the first time I had been to a Carusos. I have their signature sandwich and my guest had the chicken pasta. The sandwich was very good although I would’ve liked to seen more condiments on it. Maybe honey mustard, or a horseradish mustard. But that is my personal preference not a reason to complain. Not sure that was an option but if you’d like a little more zest or pep in your sandwich, definitely ask for something. Not a complaint just something to be aware of. The pasta dish was definitely filling and was very good. Since I am a fan of all things cream soda, I have to mention this is one of the soda options.

My bf brought me out to lunch as a surprise since I work from home and need to get out! Anyway, our first time and fairly new to the area too, I really wanted a sandwich and we decided to check you guys out. The place was very nice - clean, clearly marked as to what to do and we were surprised by the wide array of choices - sandwiches, soups, calzones, pizzas, etc etc. Being from New Hampshire and missing a lot of my favs and not finding a place (so far) that had what I wanted, I was pleasantly surprised that I saw you had pastrami (yaaay). We walked up to the young lady, behind the register, and she was very patient and nice as it was our first time and she ensured she got our order correct. I, of course, got the pastrami requested it to be finely chopped, wanted american cheese but it seems to be a delicacy around here (unlike New England) lol, and decided on swiss with a small amount of dijon and toasted. My bf had a build your own roast beef sub - lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions - and also toasted. First, we were so surprised by how big the sandwich was and your bread reminded of the bread I got at a local place back home ... and you guys nailed it! It was awesome - crispy on outside (when toasted) and soft on the inside - with a hint of chewy like a good italian bread but in a good way. The ingredients were fresh and a nice amount (not skimpy, thats for sure). My sandwich was awesome, the only difference was it was a smoky pastrami, so not quite the same as my fav but very close to what I miss. My bf loved his sandwich as well - it was fresh, had a good amt of ingredients and followed what he wanted. We both said we would definitely be back as its been hard to find a really good sandwich place - decent quantity and great quality for the price! And to top it off, the inside was a brick and black iron, mill building feel and had quite a few places to sit - booths, high tops and tables and we will need to try the outdoor seating once its open. We were thrilled to find this place and will...

Going downhill. Two bad experiences in a row. Before the 2nd lock down I went there to dine in and ordered my pizza and specifically indicated what toppings I do NOT want because I am allergic to. And paid more for additional toppings. They ended up messing up my order completely. When I went up to counter to point that out, an older guy (manager or owner?) or at least acted like an owner looked at me as if I am inconveniencing him. He snatched the pizza from my hand and said he will make another one. He comes back with an other one that was missing the toppings I paid for. When I pointed that out, he starred me down so I said you know what forget it. As I walk out he was walking by me and he offers me "a cookie" to take home. Places get busy and make mistakes. But that guy clearly chose not to make it right. Did not even offer to refund me the money I paid for additional toppings. Leave a lone his unwelcoming attitude. Fast forward, I convince my team at work to buy our holiday dinner from there. This is a larger order buying several items. At pick up, I ask for sauces. One for each order (As you typically would be able to get if you are dining in), the cashier asked me to pay for sauces because they are "a lot". She charged me almost $5 to get a few sauces. Asking for one sauce for each meal, to me, it is not "a lot" specially if I just bought food for a over a $100. This really is making me skeptical to continue going back. I don't like to give bad reviews. But it is hard to not to with having this kind of service in this business environment...

Food is good and the atmosphere is enjoyable. Order accuracy is problematic. Don't even bother with take-out though.

I've eaten here in person several times, and the atmosphere is enjoyable and the food is good.

Ordered online recently (2024.11.29) and was reminded why we stopped ordering online. Order checkout said food would be ready for pickup at 6:19PM; I arrived at 6:21PM and found my HOT sandwich waiting but was informed the pizzas we not even started as they were "backed up." At 6:35PM I was informed my pizzas were going in. I asked why they wouldn't make the order at the same time and was told they make the sandwiches as soon as the order is received, but pizzas always have to wait in line and that "you can't count on what the online ordering system says." It was not busy, there were 6 tables in use, and there were 2 other people waiting on take-out orders. I watched so many staff members come to check and re-check food waiting to go out; I had to stop them when they tried to give my sandwich in a different order and I watched a dine-in guest come back after realizing they gave her the wrong pizza. I finally received my pizzas at 6:48PM; meaning my HOT sandwich had been getting cold for 30 minutes. When I got home, I discovered one pizza didn't have the pesto sauce, and the cheesy bread did not have the...
