Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Springfield Township

The food was okay. The service sucked. The server got our drink order & put in our appetizer order. He brought my husband & kid their drinks, but no straw, my strawberry lemonade had to be made at the bar. So we wait. About 15 mins our app comes. I go get two straws for them & napkins from the bar. My drink is sitting there but I didn't get it. We eat the app, and they enjoy them w/drinks. When we were finished, the server came over to take our food order. I ask if I can have my drink. He goes and gets it. They bring our food... no silver wear. The server goes back to get silverware and brings out a dirty spoon. Call the manager over after I finally get ahold of someone - the bartender - and get a new spoon. Our server came by one time between then and when we left. He said, "Im sorry. You should have told me it was a dirty spoon." Then walks away. I would have, but he was nowhere to be found. Then we run out of drinks and napkins. I get my own napkins-again. Call the hostess over as she is cleaning the table next to us, and she gets us refills & boxes to go. We look over, and the server is still in a booth talking to someone. The hostess told our server to get our check. He talked to us as we were leaving - btw our app plate was STILL on the outside of the table. We still left 15%, but we typically tip way better. The service was terrible, the food wasn't great. We didn't even get a discount on the dirty spoon they tried to give my 18 month old daughter with chocolate on it....we had nothing w chocolate on it. Worst restaurant and service. So, there are no straws, missing drink, no server, dirty spoons. Way over prices for the bad...

Where to start. Service: we arrived and waited 15+ to get drinks. That's a rough start. It wasn't busy. It was fairly quiet and the staff was aplenty. We ordered drinks(waters and sodas). Waited another 10 minutes for them to arrive. All good. It will get better.

Two of our party ordered the all you can eat wings. Each received a small starter portion and then we're informed they were entirely out of them. We were charged full price for the unlimited though.

We waited almost 45 minutes from food order to receive. And the entire party did not receive their order. Meaning we had meals not delivered to the table. Just people sitting there watching the others eat. Something easily identified if you are a server. The server did not check on us nor respond to our attempts to have her come to our table.

After everyone had finished their food she finally attempted to check on us. No drink refills throughout. No how is your food. No...wait someone doesn't have their food. We requested the check. Informed her to take off the food not delivered and prepared to leave. The manager came over (first time we had seen her, as she was also checking on the table behind us that had a similar experience) offered a few free appetizer coupons and a 10% off of our bill. We are good. Nothing could make up for the poorly run environment that we just witnessed. First and last time for...

I just reviewed this Applebee's earlier this week, but I visited again today and want to add this. Everything I said in my initial review (below) still stands, but I want to recognize two outstanding employees.

The Server we had today, Cici, was excellent. She was quick, attentive, and efficient. And, she was polite enough to laugh at my very bad dad jokes.

I also want to give kudos to Dariya. Though she was not our Server on this day, we were seated in the same section she was working. I was so impressed, I called her over to our table to ask her name. It was hard to not notice how great of a Server Dariya is. She moved quickly, returned to check on each of her tables multiple times, and was extremely pleasant and professional.

It is wonderful to know Applebee's employs such hard working and terrific people.

Love this place! It is my go -to when I want to relax and enjoy a delicious meal at a reasonable price. I have never ordered something there that I didn't like and have never had to send anything back. The Servers are always professional, friendly, and efficient. Nice environment, always a pleasant experience.

Oh, and they have the BEST BONELESS BUFFALO WINGS...
