I only gave one star because I had to… This past Saturday me and my family decided to go to Blondies for brunch. It was extremely busy and due to a storm the night before the patio was closed so there was limited seating, we expected a wait. We were told 30mins by the hostess and that was fine. Pretty soon after there was chaos! The place was packed and at least 6 parties were waiting not including people who were waiting inside. We checked back in at 20mins told it would be a little longer…. fine. We were allowed to wait in the patio but not eat there …..ok whatever! Now it’s hot the sun is beaming we decided to go inside and wait, this is when we noticed that the hostess is clearly just seating and not following her list. There was a party of 6 that she told 30mins. she visibly holding a table for them but told us she had to wait to get a table to seat four. My kids father peacefully approached her after seeing the table purposely not being cleaned and hearing her plans to hold it for the large party. She immediately got snappy and said she was trying her best and offered us after an hour of waiting a table that only sat three….instead of just honoring that we were next and cleaning the open table!! She then included who I’m guessing was the manager(I’m assuming this because she had the confidence to put us out) who was just as snappy as her. As my kids father talked to her again peacefully hand behind his back she continued to say things like I heard what she said referencing the hostess. She did all of this while never making eye contact she was working while talking to him. I entered the conversation and she immediately said we will not do the rolling of the eyes!!!! As if I’m a child in school! I said it’s funny that you address me on my frustration quicker than you are addressing the actual problem. She then went on to say we don’t have to serve you guys! She says I offered you drinks while you wait but that’s not good enough for you!!! I then went in to tell after an hour and looking at an open table no it is not! She went on to tell us to leave they won’t be serving us! I was so bothered because I was excited to eat there. I’ve also worked in restaurants as a hostess so the last thing I wanted to do was be a problem guest! Me and my kids father have back grounds restaurants work.. we try our very hardest to show respect because we know how it feels! The hostess was not accountable for her mistake and she had back up from an entitled rude manager who was more interested in using her power to bully and boss me as another adult rather provide quality customer service! I had to share this I see that everyone else had awesome experience, it’s so unfortunate that for no reason at all I was treated that way in front of my two small kids no empathy was shown after visibly watching them wait an...
Read moreThis post is a little late, but warranted. Absolute worst service. Not because of waitress but because of management. In town for a funeral and stopped to get breakfast. Restaurant was recommended by a friend. They weren't too busy. We ordered our food and it took a while. Once rec'd my food wasnt right. I sent it back and it returned in minutes. It didn't look like the 1st dish. I ddnt complain, but our waitress didnt return to the table until we were finished eating. I ordered French toast which ddnt look appetizing. When the waitress did return. I asked for checks and to please remove the French toast. Waitress informed she will get manager. The hostess came to table asking why I dont want it. I informed I don't want it I dont like how it looks. She then said they dont remove things and she can box it. I said no I dont want it and she took plate. The manager finally came to table and inquired what was wrong. I informed her of the same that I dont want it and I dont like how it looks. So the manager keeps asking me multiple times why I dont want it. I have never had a manager go back and forth with a customer about food that they dont want to consume. I felt my reason was valid. She assumed I ordered too much and now ddnt want it. It isnt her job to assume that. She is supposed to rectify the situation. After going back and forth she finally stated she will remove the food. I said ok and proceeded to talk to my family at the table inquiring as to why I had to go thru so much push back about $4 French toast. The manager had the audacity to back track and say I was being rude. I never once yelled or used profanity. As well as my tone was normal so I was confused. Even the parties at my table were shocked by her statement. At that point now I'm going to be rude. I informed her to stop talking to me and get the checks. I have never had to speak to someone that way. I've worked in food service business for years and that is not at all how you treat your customers. Regardless of service I tip well and the management completely messed up the waitresses tip. Also once we left we noticed they put gratuity on a party of 5. I thought it was on parties of 6 and up. So when we called them to inquire the manager blamed the waitress saying she works at another restaurant and they put gratuity on all checks. Sad thing is we also called that restaurant and they stated they put gratuity on parties of 8 and up. She put that on the check thinking we weren't going to tip. The waitress got only $2-3 from everyone when she could have got $5 or more from everyone at the table. Not smart at all. Never...
Read moreI went in with my husband and another couple whom we are friends with. It was about 10am on a Sunday and we were told it would be a 40-45 minute wait. That was fine, especially since the wait didn’t end up being quite that long anyway. But after being seated it took over an hour for our food to come. Our waitress was very nice, but also while waiting on our food for an hour she only came back once to refill waters and didn’t address our excessive wait. We only ordered one entree per person, nothing extra special. The rest of the workers seemed like they really didn’t want to be there. I get that it’s work but you could just feel it in the atmosphere. Perhaps the employees we were seeing were frustrated with the kitchen as well for taking so long? Once we got our food, it was mid. My husband and I did get a peach smoothie to share (the wait for this was not factored into the hour wait I mentioned above) and it was mediocre. It did seem like a fresh smoothie though so maybe someone who likes peaches more would have enjoyed it, but it was $8 for what looked like a small to medium sizing cup of it. Just not good enough to be worth it for me. 4/10 on the smoothie. Once we saw those who were sat after us get their food before us, we almost left but then it was brought out. Nothing was super hot but it wasn’t cold either. I personally ordered French toast which tasted and visibly looked slightly burnt. It was still edible, but if we hadn’t already waited so long I would’ve asked for it to be fixed. The flavor wasn’t much of anything either. They weren’t disgusting but I can make better more flavorful French toast at home. My husband ordered the dish that has the biscuits and gravy and chorizo. We both tried his and, while the presentation was beautiful, it was just lacking something. The chorizo wasn’t warm, it was almost stale as if that had been sitting out. The biscuit almost tasted microwaved, but I don’t want to accuse them of something I couldn’t know for certain. We saw multiple other customers leave the place without finishing their plates, if that says anything. One of our friends ordered a grilled cheese but got what was basically a sandwich with toasted bread. The cheese was warm but it was not melty to any extent. To conclude, all of the employees we interacted with were kind but the food was subpar, not worth the price, and not...
