I can't even begin to explain how disappointed and disserviced I feel after visiting this restaurant tonight. I literally just left the establishment about an hour or two ago and I just had to make it my business to leave a review before I contact the general manager tomorrow morning regarding the service. I came in to have dinner with a party of six (girls night out) after leaving a paint party a few doors down. My friends and I planned to have dinner after the event and because one of us had previously been here for dinner and because of the location (directly across from the event), we figured it would be a great place to dine after the party. We came in to be seated and it all started off bad. Underneath our table was full of trash which we made them aware of, food, utensils, and who knows whatever else. We sat, ordered drinks, and began to look over the menu. The menus handed to us were wet(yuck) but we ordered anyway and just grabbed a few napkins to wipe them off. We placed our drink order, and at the same time decided to place our food order because we were a little hungry. We waited about a half hour to get six drinks which by the way came with an order of gnats because we had to swat at them repeatedly. Drinks finally came but I think we must have waited at least 45-60 minutes for our food which was horrible!!! The nachos were floating in sauce, my flautas were made wrong and they brought them out three times before I just decided I didn't even want to eat anymore so I boxed my dinner to go and left it on the table on the way out the door (mentally on purpose). The manager on duty tried to make things better, she even ran across the street for cilantro, but in all actuality it kept getting worse and worse, especially after the waitress tried to justify the service issue with a silly statement referencing the fact that the kitchen had a bad day, they were tired and just didn't want to cook anymore. That's not really something you need to disclose to a paying customer. The food was deplorable, service disappointing, and the drinks were mediocre, I sent one back, and to top it all off, the waitress seemed nice until we complained. For six people dining at roughly $40-60 per person, I think we came out on the short end of this deal. I will not be patronizing this establishment ever again and definitely will not recommend anyone dine....

While visiting STL this was my first stop for food it was less than a block from my hotel. I could smell the food wafting in the air before I actually made it in. The atmosphere was inviting and fun and there was even an option to dine outside and I opted to stay inside. They started me with Chips and Salsa the chips are the light crispy airy tortilla and they were DELICIOUS 😋 The salsa was the chilled pureed style where the onions, peppers, cilantro, garlic are blended and it was the perfect compliment to the CHIPS !!! Guilty admission: I started tearing up the chips and salsa before I remembered to take a picture and was almost done with the entree before I remembered to take a pic....sorry 😫

I started with a bowl of Chicken Tortilla soup and OMG it was the BOMB loaded with Chicken Tinga, corn, melted cheese ,seasoned Tortilla strips and a dollop of sour cream it was amazing and full of flavor and chew down to the final spoon. Because it was lunch time and I had done ample damage already I tried to keep it light and familiar so I ordered the 3 Carne Asada tacos and added a side of rice and beans. The tacos are served hardshell corn or soft flour for this selection......I chose hardshell ( because I love it crispy) these tacos are basically served "American style" with lettuce, cheese, shredded cheese, tomatoes and Pico de Gallo for some pop which was just fine and I requested salsa Verde to pour in them for my enjoyment. The restaurant is a nice mix of contemporary ,casual and traditional. You will not find certain favorites like Horchata to wash it down but there are plenty options for Alchol or Mocktails. I was very pleased with my food. And my server was BRADLEY E. was EXCELLENT 💯 he checked on me offered me selections he thought I might like based on what I inquired about,he was friendly, accommodating and took care of me very well which made the experience...

I've been eating here for a while now and food is delicious. Service is usually just as good until today. Mind you I've been there and know the menu and they don't sell coffee. I usually like coffee with my meal so I bought from a close by coffee shop. At the door they said nothing about my coffee and a nice young lady was even drinking coffee she had bought somewhere else. They seated me as usual but a new waitress came to service me. She first asked if we wanted anything to drink ,my associate and I said no. She looked offended and told me that they don't allow outside drinks in there(which is a lie because one of your host was drinking coffee that looked as if it came from the same place) and that they had coffee there (which is also a lie because it wasn't my first time so I know your drinks). She then quickly walk off. she didn't ask if we were ready to order or even suggested getting us coffee (sense you now serve it). I found her demeanor odd and rude so I left and ate elsewhere. As I was leaving a waitress that has served me before ask me Why I was leaving so soon I told him that i was told that we can't drink outside drinks here and he looked puzzled. I also ask the hosts why they didnt warn me of the new rule and they looked puzzled as well and reply that they didn't know and apologized. That wasn't the first drink I bought in from outside but I can respect their rules If That's Really a new rule, what really bothered me ,she didn't treat us like paying customers. I will still dine at rosalitas but if she serves me again I'll request for a different server and if she gives me problems about that I'm speaking to a manager. I just can't imagine tipping such a rude individual. Still one of my favor places but if service isn't right I will honestly stop...

First time dining here. My friend Kevin had suggested it as he had been there once before. The first thing that caught my attention was the swiftness of most of the servers getting the meals and things back and forth. I thought it was a pretty busy place for a Monday night. The server who waited on our my table was polite enough but there were moments when I felt like she had forgotten about us. The appetizer plate that. I ordered was going to be the only food I was going to eat. Kevin had ordered a regular size meal plate and it took a while lot longer for it to brought to the table after I was given mine. The non-sweet tea was weak as expected and when I was able to get my server's attention for a refill she actually took it upon herself to pass the new glass of tea over the entire table not once but twice during my meal to put it directly in my hand. When we were nearly finished she had briskly walked by our table, glanced down and simply asked ," Will this be on one check", as kept on walking without stopping to even listen for a reply. I brought that aspect to her attention but her apology lacked a certain sincerity. I understand a certain amount of gratuity is to be expected at a restaurant like Rosalitas but the tip should also reflect the thoroughness of the server's efforts.

Went here years ago, was excited to return...wildly disappointing in all aspects. Happy hour timing, very short staffed with long waits. Server did her best, clearly overwhelmed. A/c could not keep up and we were fighting gnats throughout the meal. House margarita was unbalanced and terrible. Chips and salsa were great! Kids chicken tenders were good. Carne asada nachos were disappointing, the carne had zero sear and tasted almost boiled and the cheese seemed very watered down. Dinners were also disappointing, poblano chicken sauce was watery and the poblano peppers were barely cooked, let alone charred like they are supposed to be. Chicken on this dish and the pollo Cancun were pounded flat (presumably for a quicker cook), and then subsequently overcooked and dry. The highlight of dinner were the 3 shrimp on top, cooked to perfection. The "guacamole salad" was weird ... lettuce with 2 guac scoops. Probably will try a different Mexican restaurant next time in town
