MODERNROOTS — Local services in Stillwater

Love LOVE LOVE this little shop. Their Sandalwood and salt soap bars are my favorite. I also love their Clean Hippie Lotion. I also purchased a lip gloss which is fabulous as well.

This last trip to MN, I took the backway into town as I was hitting traffic in Lakeville - not realizing that there were NO GAS STATIONS on my way to town which was a problem since I reaaaallly needed a restroom, and it had been a while that I needed to go....

It was pouring rain (not helping!) and as I drove into the south hill area, past 2 friends homes - one I knew was not home, and the next I didnt want to risk it as once I got out of the car I was going to need to go!

My options at 5pm on a Friday in Stillwater were not fantastic, I started praying that ModernRoots would let me use theirs. I needed to go there for lotion that evening anyway.

My ill put together plan was my last ditch effort - as I thanked God I had leather seats (I had become that worried in this situation, between traffic and knowing how parking is!!).

I went down commercial street, stopped at the stop sign and voila! There was a parking spot right in front of ModernRoots front door! I "potty danced" into the store and said, "I know you dont have public restrooms but I really need to go!" I had not even finished my sentence before she was shooing me back to the restroom.

I thanked her profusely when I came out. I dont know if I would have been able to get anywhere else before embarrassing myself.

I share this story as apart of the review because it is a reflection of the small town shops in my very favorite place in MN. I go there each trip we take back north (we live a good 700 miles south!) and ModerRoots is a staple in my bathroom/shower routine. They have such incredible products, well made and reasonable. I have pretty severe dermatitis/ eczema, and less than an hour after using the Hydrating Body Butter the itching, swelling and symptoms in general were substantially better. The butter itself is extremely thick and I only had to use a thin layer, so I’m sure the jar will last a long time but I will be repurchasing once I’m out! The ladies at the store were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the products, and the store had a lovely atmosphere. Very impressed and 100% would recommend! Edit: like your response says, the eczema lotion has been wonderful with keeping breakouts at bay. (The grapeseed cream is very soothing and hydrating as well!)
