Los Chapos Tacos — Restaurant in Tampa

Came in yesterday, ordered my usual dinner here which was the birria taco special. I ordered alongside my friend (who ordered first) and received my order within 5 minutes. Totally standard, however my friend waited around 20 minutes, received no order (which was the same as mine), he went to the counter to validate that they had received his order since it was taken on the touch screen in the front, the food runner mentioned he was working on it already and it would be done quickly. He then waited another 10 minutes, went back and the runner said he was just about to start it (note, there were plenty of staff present, and only two other parties in the entire place, and they arrived much after we did). He requested a refund due to the fact that we had waited well over 40 minutes at this point, and was met which such unprofessional attitude, that honestly I would never want to return. This place has gotten far too comfortable with allowing a disrespectful staff who is far more focused on their phones and themselves, than trying to make right by the customer. Their prices have slowly begun to get to the point where they don’t make much sense for the level of service, portion size, nor atmosphere. Coming from someone who has been in many service positions, and management positions, I hope they can take the opportunity to learn that there will be times where staff makes a mistake, but what truly matters is how the resolution is handled, and belittling a regular that comes at least weekly sure is not the...

A few years ago I would have given 5 stars but this place has really gone downhill. They increased prices while decreasing the portion sizes. You get about half of what you used to get, but you spend more money for it. The service is absolutely horrendous. The girls that used to work there were really sweet and friendly but the ones now are rude and lazy. They will just stand there staring off into space or texting on their phones while you are waiting for service or for them to make you a drink. They bring you the wrong meal and make you wait over a half an hour for yours then it comes out cold. My husband ordered a drink and stood in the lobby to wait. The girl who was supposed to prepare his drink stood there for over 20 minutes, messing around and chuckling to herself when he appeared to be frustrated, like it was funny to her. He had to ask someone else where his drink was then she prepared it in under 2 minutes. Good food will only get you so far if the service is this horrible. They also blast the music so loud you can't hear anything and have to shout when talking. All of the tables were dirty and instead of cleaning them I saw the girls wiping off the crumbs with their hands and leaving it at that. It was not that busy so there was no excuse for the behavior. They clearly don't care about their customers, cleanliness, or the experience customers have. Again I love the food but with the games they are playing and how rude they are it makes me not want to support...

Very disappointing from the get go. We got there and it was all very confusing. There's a storefront with a food truck on front. Big sign on storefront doors that say "order @ the food truck". Said food truck was surrounded by employees just standing around - not one of them said anything as we walked around all confused. I walk up to the food truck... no menu. After asking, they tell us to scan the barcode (the menu is online - it would help if they had more instructional signs [REAL signs]). There are no combos, no platters. Just steeply priced tacos and burritos. And flies. Lots of flies; Apparently, none of the employees standing around get paid to empty trash cans. The wife and I both had the birria tacos. 😝. The beef tasted like it was straight out of a can. The tortillas were soggy and soft and the "beef broth" was a cup of oil. All in a Styrofoam tray. No garnish, no pico de gallo, no sauce. We expected a lot more. Wouldn't go back if it was free. Especially after trying a place (I won't say names🤣)less than 5 minutes away that rocks out for...
