Seriously love their chocolate muffins - they are too die for! & the Mac n cheese; definitely some great freakin food!
However… I did have one experience that I found less than desirable. & for the record, I was not actually planning to make this experience into an actual review on Google; I was actually okay just putting it in the survey they had emailed to me regarding my order from the day prior (this was all a few weeks ago but I am just now posting because, funny story…after writing it all out I needed a break and forgot to actually come back & finish posting it!).
Nonetheless, after the end result of said survey, I definitely have more of a reason than before to state my experience AS a review. I’ll explain:
I ordered food yesterday* and decided to try the mobile ordering through the website for the first time and so I did and yadda yadda. (Additional details below)
Fast forward to tonight**. I got an email offering $3 off my next order for simply doing a survey about my experience. Now, because I had some things I DID want to include to my survey, I took it and filled it out honestly and then spent a GENEROUS amount of my life to inform this bakery exactly what I experienced and how I felt about it, as THEY had requested of ME! This was what I said:
"Main reason why I wanted to order from Corner Bakery was to get a chocolate muffin. I ordered a half dozen muffins, 4 being chocolate. My friend went to go get my order and then informed me that they are all out of chocolate muffins…. It was not even 1pm yet. They also claimed "once they are out, they are out" and don’t actually make anymore once they run out. Finally, they told my friend that we would have to request an order for them no later than the NIGHT BEFORE in order to make sure we would actually get any the following day. I was unsatisfied with the fact that your bakery makes only a select amount of muffins every morning and then when you run out, you "choose" to not make anymore. As a bakery, I see no reason why additional batches of certain items could no be made, especially ones known to be of high demand &/ or run out of often.
In addition, I found it odd that the employees at Corner Bakery that were in charge of gathering my order did not attempt in any way to contact me regarding their lack of chocolate muffins, seeing as I ordered so many. I would have appreciated a courtesy call informing me what I ordered was not going to be available so that was disappointing."
Well - GUESS WHAT! …. After taking the time to write all that & submitting my survey it THEN says "Thanks for your survey! Now, just enter the 17 digit survey code at the bottom of your receipt to get your $3 coupon code."
…….
WHAT?! First off, 17 digits?! & Who keeps receipts for takeout for that long?! This was an offer they emailed to me over 24 hours LATER & it NEVER mentioned needing your paper receipt from the order in order to ACTUALLY get the coupon! Only AFTER you spend your time on it do they say you need it and no, it is NOT located anywhere on your mobile account; not in order history, not in order email, nowhere. Only the paper receipt that was OBVIOUSLY thrown out by now. This is in no way a big deal but I gotta warn others about this and request Corner Bakery to at least say the receipt code is REQUIRED to actually get the deal BEFORE having them submit their survey! Thanks for your time. 😊

Read moreWas actually looking forward to trying this place as I have driven past quite a few times. So, when I had the chance, decided to try it. I am giving it 1 star because it is clean and lots of places to sit (read my review and you'll understand the empty tables). That's pretty much where the good times end. I ordered the cinnamon roll - because if you're going to splurge go big or go home. (Probably should have gone home instead). The roll was hard, stale, had a strange taste and the "frosting" had the consistency of spackling paste and wet cement. I was beyond disappointed. The creme cake was much worse as it was dry, crumbly, flavorless and an overall waste of space on the plate. Here is where I would like to say that the wonderful Vanilla Cold Brew Coffee that I ordered made up for the everything. No such luck! Even the coffee was unappetizing. I mean come on guys, how do you mess up cold coffee! Here is where the staff - you know the 3 people standing behind the walk up counter who were so busy talking and laughing with each other that they were too busy to even acknowledge us when we walked in? Yes the 3 Musketeers - who didn't bother directing us thru the awkwardly arranged set up in the front - or offer to heat the dehydrated cinnamon roll (maybe that wasn't an option but if it was they didn't) or even ask if we wanted anything else or if we were enjoying our food...but hey...as long as they were having a good time that's all that matters right. So no, don't waste your time or money here. The pastries look wonderful but are overpriced and...
Read moreI was told to "move aside" by Alejandro while ordering because, in a stupefying failure of organization, Corner Bakery has you place your order at the same place where you pick it up. The problem is that they don't have the counter space to accommodate trays and the credit card machine with their 2 feet of counter space, which makes for an extremely tight squeeze, and rude comments to customers, like "move aside" to accommodate other customers who are picking up their food at the same time as I'm trying to pay.
They have an employee cleaning up the trays in the dining area, and if they had two brain cells to rub together, they could have her also deliver the trays of food so as to eliminate the traffic jam at the front.
They have a loyalty program, but you have to download the app before you order. When I asked if I could take my receipt, and get credit for my purchase later via the app, the answer was a terse, "No." Well, that doesn't seem very fair, does it? They're happy to take my money, but won't give me credit for it.
The only reason this place gets 2 stars instead of one is because the kids meal deal can't be beat: $5.99 for a half sandwich, soup, chips, a drink,...
