A Temecula Gem: Freshness and Perfection in Every Handroll! We were craving for simple sushi in town. I know Temecula doesn't have that many choices. But when i heard there is this new handroll sushi bar just opened, without waiting a second more, we went there right away! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is just right - simple yet elegant, with soft lighting and a quiet hum of happy eaters. It's the kind of place where you can really relax and enjoy your meal. But let's get to the good stuff: those handrolls and the Sashimi and Nigiri sushi. Seriously, the freshness and quality of the fish here are out of this world. Every piece just melts in your mouth, tasting like it was just pulled from the ocean. They clearly go all out to get the best ingredients. The nori is perfectly crisp, and the rice is seasoned just right - that ideal combo that makes a killer handroll. They are also well paired with most of the sakes, from Kikusui, Dassai 39, Hakkaisan and Hakutsuru! And it's not just the food. Even though this place is newly opened, the service is top-notch too. The staff are super attentive, really know their stuff, and genuinely seem excited about the menu. They're quick, efficient, and make you feel totally welcome, guiding you through the choices and making sure everything's perfect. They also serve set menu if you can't decide and want every piece of exotic fishes. Honestly, this Handroll Sushi bar isn't just dinner; it's an experience. From Tuna, Salmon, King Salmon, Halibut, Chutoro, Uni, and my all time favorite A5 Wagyu. Yumm! If you're looking for amazing sushi in Temecula - think incredible freshness, quality, fantastic service, and a beautifully chill atmosphere - you've gotta check this place out. Five...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this newly opened sushi restaurant in Temecula during a spontaneous spa weekend getaway—and what an absolute blessing it turned out to be. Opened just last week, this place is already delivering an experience that rivals some of the best sushi we've had in Japan.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed with exceptional service. The staff was attentive, gracious, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience. The interior is clean, modern, and beautifully designed—with thoughtful little touches that make the entire space feel aesthetically pleasing without being overdone.
But what truly blew us away was the food. Every piece of sushi was masterfully prepared, and the quality of the fish, the perfect amount of rice, and the delicate marination made each bite feel like something you'd find in a quiet corner of Tokyo. You could taste the craftsmanship and care in every dish. My husband and I kept looking at each other in disbelief at how good everything was. It was heaven in your mouth.
We had no expectations—after all, sushi in the middle of the desert? But this restaurant has set a new bar. It’s the kind of place we’ll make time to drive out for, again and again.
A special thank you to the Sushi Bar Chef./Owner Chris for the complimentary dish—we could feel the passion behind the food, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
To anyone considering it: don’t hesitate. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a standout dining experience, this is...
Read moreThis isn’t your average sushi spot. Onori specializes in traditional Japanese sushi executed with incredible precision and respect for the craft. The fish is always pristine, the rice is perfectly seasoned and warm, and the hand rolls are made fresh to order with crisp seaweed that holds up beautifully.
I’ve visited twice once for dinner and again for lunch and both times the quality, service, and atmosphere were exceptional. I especially recommend the Taste of Onori Set Menu which showcases a range of expertly prepared nigiri like Shima Aji with lemon salt, O Toro, and Seared Black Cod. The Toro and Lobster hand rolls were standout highlights.
What impressed me even more was the consistency across visits no shortcuts, no gimmicks, just clean, honest, high level sushi. The chefs apply all sauces and garnishes for you and the flavors are balanced, subtle, and elegant. Even during lunch the attention to detail never dropped.
The atmosphere is clean, minimalist, and calming, great for solo dining, dates, or small groups. While it’s located just outside Temecula’s wine country it absolutely deserves to be a culinary destination of its own.
I’ve dined at the legendary Tsukiji Market in Tokyo and the quality here genuinely reminds me of that same level of purity and craftsmanship. That’s not something I say lightly.
If you appreciate true Japanese technique and quality this is...
