First time to Casa Mia for an early lunch (11AM) and it definitely won’t be the last. Mom and I were eagerly anticipating what we were hoping to be a good experience, and it absolutely blew us away! This visit ticked all the boxes in terms of Food, Service, and Ambiance. It was truly exceptional. I can’t believe this place has been here for six years and we have lived across the highway all this time. Walking in, you immediately feel a sense of welcoming in an intimate, classy, high energy space. Wonderful first impression. This is a Family Business and one that you would be doing yourself a disservice for not stopping by.
From the time we entered, we were immediately greeted and seated by John, the mixologist here. He and the chef in the back were truly the stars of the show. John introduced us to the establishment and spoke a bit about the history. He was expecting us (since we made a reservation online) so he had already reserved a table. He was more than happy to answer any questions we may have had about the Menu. Fortunately, we glanced at the Menu online beforehand in order to prevent any indecisiveness.
Hot, Fresh Chips, Salsa, and Black Bean Dip (life-changing btw) were brought to the table first. The crunch and texture of the chip was perfect accompanied by the two dips and set the tone for the rest of the meal. 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
John then handed us the cocktail Menu and we ordered two Jalapeño Margaritas. Individually handcrafted with fresh, quality ingredients, this Margarita ranks right up there with some of the best we have had. The flavors of the lime juice and the jalapeño do a little dance on the palate and cut through with just the right intensity. 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For entrées, I ordered the Reina Plate and Mom ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. Both excellent! Hot, Fresh, Cooked to Order, Tender, locked-in flavor, and complete bliss with each and every bite. I love places that don’t over season or oversalt their food, simply because 1.) it retracts from the experience and 2.) we don’t add salt to our food at home. The seasoning here was perfect! I wish more places were like this. The pickled cabbage, carrots, and sauce were the perfect accompaniments to the fried plantains, yuca, pupusa with cheese, and tamale wrapped in banana leaves. The Black Bean Dip and Rice was a nice touch as well. Portion sizes just right and that can be hit or miss on several establishments. Presentation and aesthetics were on point as well and I would give them 10 stars if I could! 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️for The Reina Plate 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️for The Chicken Enchiladas
For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Tres Leches Cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. Light, moist, and airy and the perfect way to end a meal. 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We were the only patrons at 11AM on a Monday. We loved the individualized service and it truly felt like John cared about us. Based on our dining experience and attentive/friendly service, we wish to return for subsequent visits. Looking forward to the opening of your location in Little Elm. See...
Read more1st time dining in. We were warmly greeted at the door and offered a table "near the windows" which was nice. The restaurant is very clean and cozy; Comfortable for family meal, small group or some friends.
Ordered the chimichanga which was DELISH! Our server was attentive and made some very nice recommendations. I elected to go with what I know, The Chimi.
Chips and hot sauce were brought to the table with a serving of beans. The chips were not typical corn. They were also well prepared and NOT GREASY as is the case in some other restaurants.. Hot sauce was nice consistency and had a little bite to it.
When the entre arrived it was well presented and obviously designed with fresh ingredients. There were no Where's Waldo looking for the fajita meat. And it was NOT hamburger, thank goodness. The Chimi was not greasy either. Crisp and puffy, as well as the queso sauce accompaniment. No oily or greasy runoff on the cheese. Fresh and well prepared.
All in all, a great meal served with a smile and in an inviting environment. The GM made the rounds to the patron tables throughout the dinner service. When he stopped at our table, he spent some time visiting. Learning about us, how we enjoyed the evening's meal, and made some recommendations for our next visit.
Only down side, if you consider it a down side is that it is tucked away at teh end of the line of storefronts. If you head for the Starbucks sign, just go to the right and there it is tucked away in the corner.
But I learned a long time ago; Nothing worth having comes easy! A tat bit hard to find, but you Will be rewarded. It's on the opposite side of the SRT SH121 across from Top Golf n The Colony (Between the Studio Movie Grill and In and Out Burger).
Give the place a try. It is my new favorite Latin American food place that could pass for what we consider Mexican Food, with a Salvadorian flair.
Good Food; Good Service Good People. What else is there? Enjoy!
Addition. As you can see Oz the GM has chimed in here. He was the one we visited with at length. He spent much of the time visiting with all the diners inside as I said.
That speaks VOLUMES of the management. Shows an interest in what the patrons are thinking and saying about the establishment. What are we hitting the mark on, missing, can do better and make our diners happy.
You need that to be successful. I wish them all the best! Full disclosure. I was not asked to write this, nor received anything for doing so. I just miss good service that long ago was the standard for anything; Rewarding and sharing when happy and warning when not....
Read moreSuper excited to write this review and if you get nothing else from this review, all you need to know is go, go and eat at this place because everything about it is 5 stars. From the food to the friendliness of the staff, to the cleanliness of the restaurant, all 5 stars!! We were greeted instantly as we walked in by a smiling and friendly server, chose a seat near the door and our drink order was taken just as quick. Looking around the restaurant you can see the cool details immaculately picked out and they all tie in perfectly together. The lighting is just right, not too bright but not too dim. The silverware has a nice solidness to it and makes you feel like you should be at a more expensive restaurant so bonus points on the little details put into making the first impression a wonderful one. Our server stopped by and after some suggestions we ordered the CM Skirt Steak Nachos (crispy individual nachos with beans, melted cheese and a slice of skirt steak on top). Excellent! I'm not sure if they cook the chips at the restaurant but they have this delicious flavor and a distinct crisp to them that I haven't found at any other restaurant. Lucky for me they have the same chips in a bowl they put on your table along with some tasty salsa and a small bowl of black beans for dipping. Yum! As an additional appetizers we also ordered the Pupusas and we are happy we did. Being the first time to try these we were not disappointed. The corn tortillas are round and flat and have an almost tamale texture on the inside and are a little crispy on the outside and for the filling, the cheese and pork was amazing. Slicing your fork into it, you get this slight resistance from the outside crispiness and then it just slides thru the rest of it. You definitely see the cheese as each bite has the pull apart cheese action. The flavors and textures work so well together you don't need any dipping sauce but they provide a tasty side sauce to compliment the Pupusas. For the main entrees we ordered the beef enchiladas and the Carne Asada plate. The entrees arrived shortly after our nachos and pupusas platters and I can't say enough great things about the enchiladas and carne asada plates. All the flavors are way above anything I've had in the past. Perfectly spiced and seasoned, and compiled into a delectable and tantalizing meal. I can't wait to go back here and try more items...
