October 4, 2025 First Visit Room #133 Before arriving, I found that this used to be a Holiday Inn. I think that would explain the floor plan of the building. So, if you show up and it seems to have familiarity to it... that could be why. Once I arrived, I was greeted by Jay, and he displayed great tolerance while I took up time talking to him while getting signed in. He provided exceptional customer service and efficiency. I told him this was one of the better-looking and larger Clarion locations I've been to. Parking was decent, but anyone driving large vehicles or pulling trailers may find that this location is not ideal. Walking the facility, I did notice that breakfast was $12.99. I was hoping that it was going to be above and beyond what is free and standard when staying at most Comfort and Sleep Inn branded locations. The next morning, I found it was identical...the only addition was fresh fruit cut into pieces as opposed to whole fruit. So, if you're factoring costs, consider that fact. I have visited many of the Choice branded properties throughout DFW and have always favored the Comfort and Sleep Inn properties in the Fossil Creek section of Fort Worth. However, since the company I work for has their office in this area now, it makes more sense to stay in this vicinity. I did find that the reviews don't stack up as nicely with hotels in general over here, but I know my options. Back to walking the facility, I inspected my room and brought up some very minor concerns to Jay that were more of a visual/functional issue that probably wouldn't be of concern to other guests. I like that the A/C had a remote control operation, so you would not have to leave your bed. Channel choices are slim but tolerated if you're not using your phone or computer for entertainment. The room I was in was neat and clean (#133), and I found no critters, bugs, or health concerns. The bed was comfortable too! The reception area was later staffed by two ladies who worked two different shifts, and they were pleasant to work with. With all of that written...I can end this diatribe on a positive note and hope that your stay will or was as good as mine. Service at the counter by a nice lady was quickly done, and she made sure to explain all I needed to know even as a returning guest. My room was perfect as I found nothing wrong. I stayed at this location for three days while on a business trip. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Check in was a breeze. The staff was super friendly and courteous. My room was very clean. There is a microwave, mini refrigerator and coffee maker in every room. The bathroom was very clean and stocked nicely with soaps and lotion. They have all of the amenities that you need downstairs, there are two refrigerators full of snacks and drinks. Plenty of lounge seating and a really nice bar area that serves wine and beer and drinks. The outside patio is really nice with plenty of seating as well. The pool is very nice too. We had the conference room booked for two days with breakfast both days and the breakfast was very good as well. There are plenty of shops and dining options very close to this hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to go to Texas. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Our room was dirty, I had to go and buy Lysol disinfect wipes to clean our room and inside drawers, carpet was dirty and had a lot dog hair, microwave was dirty as well I was about to lay down to rest and surprise bed sheets had a big brown stain. We went downstairs and complaint, they told us early morning our room was gonna be the first one to be clean so the next morning we got up and left the room we went to our sons soccer game came back around 5:30 pm and guess what house keeping never made it to our room to clean. Went back to reception and they said all the cleaning people had left already and they wanted us to make our bed. Anyways everybody here is complaining about the rooms not being clean. This Hotel is dirty starting with the entrance with a mountain of trash outside and lobby is another story all dusty and dirty floor. Is sad that you have to pay and make your own bed.

Overall, excellent hotel. The bed and rooms were super new, nice and comfortable. The thermostat actually worked and the temp was perfect. Great shower (bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap). Decent tv but could only log on to one of our streaming services and watching it was a pain as the programs skipped the whole time. I don't understand why. Easy parking the whole week, except for the weekend, when it was packed. All but one of the staff was super polite, above and beyond helpful, professional. Only one seemed like he hated me or his job or maybe he was just bored to death??? I previously reviewed the hotel and commented on the security guy drinking on the job. I later found out he did NOT work for the hotel, but rather a nearby shopping area and was just relaxing at the hotel bar. So, I stand corrected on that. Nice gym and pool. There is laundry. The whole property was one of the cleanest and best kept hotels I have stayed. I have two complaints: no complimentary breakfast/coffee ($13 per person paid breakfast I will never be partaking in). I had to get in the car and drive 10 minutes to Starbucks as they don't have free coffee available ever and the cheap k-pods suck. I had to drive at least 10-15 minutes to get every meal, every day for 6 days as nothing was walking distance. Two, they said the bar was open every day until 1000pm, it was not. The bartender was never at the bar, if she was there at all and she definitely wasn't there some days. This may all seem trivial to most, but I live in hotels for my job. I spend 200-250 nights a year, every year in hotels after driving state-to-state all day, every day. My body hurts, I don't get much sleep and I need as much rest as I can get. If you want me to leave a 5-star review, I need free coffee in the lobby all day, and a functioning restaurant, or at least bar on-site. I can't fault this hotel for not having an evening restaurant. But they were supposed to have a bar and its tender was not present. I know this hotel has just re-opened under new ownership or management. They are doing a great job and I do recommend this hotel. I would simply offer the management these advice/recommendations: (1) mount shampoo/conditioner/body wash containers on the shower walls and keep them filled; (2) train your bartender and have her stay at the bar and don't lie to me about having an open bar; (3) have some kind of restaurant functioning on site. It can just serve soup and salad and sandwiches or even function as a taqueria; (4) charge well less for breakfast or even better, just set out some fruit, yogurt, bagels and cream cheese or frozen breakfast sammies. Or have those alone available to purchase cheaply. I don't want to have to leave my hotel room at all when I am staying at a hotel. I'm too darn tired in every way. I shouldn't have to leave the hotel to get basic things. You should be able to provide creamer cups instead of dry packets at a hotel of this level. It's not a Motel 6. But great...

Hello

I am very disappointed 😞 with the "assistant general manager" , cody arn and his lack of understanding and arrogant, "matter of fact" tone and attitude toward me. I have been receiving DoorDash delivery everyday since our check in July 27th until today. Today cody arn decided to stop the deliveries.  I tried to explain but in a condescending tone, he continued to repeat over and over, "due to security reasons, no". I tried to explain, that in March after I made the reservations, I called the Austin Holiday Inn front desk and spoke to a manager. I asked about  DoorDash delivery because we were handicap. They said ok. We (my husband and I) only brought are daughter down for a convention and we were going to stay inside; too hot for old people outside and enjoy the room. We got here to Austin talked to the clerk about  receiving  DoorDash delivery. They said because we gave permission to receive DoorDash delivery to our room, it was ok. We received our deliveries every day since Thursday until this morning, when cody arn refused. Basically, this makes me believe that only cody arn knows the truth and the running of the hotel and everyone else LIED to me. He did say he was going to "tend to them", I guess because they were allowed  to answer the phone and talked to me and in person they gave me wrong information.  Only cody arn knows the truth of the hotel.

I don't understand why one person out of many people in this hotel could do this,  and change the wonderful hospitality, that was told and provided to us, at the last minute. I really expected better from a 4.1 star hotel. I got better service and hospitality from the Oklahoma City  Comforts Inn and Suites (3.8 star hotel) that I stayed in Wednesday July 26th. I'm not writing this to get anything but what I was told. And that was to receive DoorDash delivery during my stay til Monday  July 31st when I check out.

Yours truly a dissatisfied customer,

Linda Lockett
