UPDATE: June 10,2024 I was invited back by a manager and this time the food was more successful.
The Fuzzy Rice was cooked well and had good flavor, the chicken tacos were also good and the chicken enchilada with green sauce was my favorite item. The potatoes again were cooked well but in severe need of salt. Once I added salt they were quite good but do have onions in them, which I didn’t realize until I started eating them.
The staff was again pleasant and helpful.
Overall, much improved and I will definitely go back. So I updated my rating.
Original visit May 23, 2024 - Went today for the first time to try the food. No one was at the front but after a minute someone came up to take my order. She was pleasant and knowledgeable.
I got the food to go and brought it back to work. I liked the way everything was packaged, the main entree and sides were in a partitioned styrofoam container that was placed in a grocery bag in case of leaks. The hard taco was wrapped in foil separately to prevent softening of the taco shell.
I got the Combo Plate with a Crispy taco and an Enchilada (both shredded chicken) with 2 sides. Fuzzy’s Rice (their take on mexican/spanish rice) and Latin Fried Potatoes (similar to Taco Bell’s potatoes but not greasy).
The food was not great. The rice was severely undercooked and crunchy, I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites. The flavor was good but the texture was awful. The potatoes were bland. They were cooked well but very tasteless. The Crispy Taco had great flavor however the “Shredded” chicken was barely shredded. As I was eating the taco, huge clumps of chicken would stick together and made it difficult to eat. Finally, the Enchilada also had a good flavor, but when I first opened the container, there were pieces of cooked ground beef on top of it. At first I thought they gave me the wrong order but when I cut into the enchilada it was shredded chicken.
Overall, the taste of the rice, taco and enchilada were good. It was the cooking and plating that was not done properly. I am willing to try it again because I can see that it could be really good food. But I definitely feel like I paid too much money for...
Read moreMy family was in the mood for tacos and decided to try out Fuzzy's for the first time tonight (Sun, Feb 25th). We placed an online order which said it would be ready in 15 min. We got to the restaurant 5 minutes AFTER they were supposed to be ready. Our order was not ready. We asked if we could buy some fountain drinks and dine at the shop and we were told NO. The lady at the register said she was going to start cleaning the dining room soon because they closed at 7pm. It was 6:20. I had my 6 yo and 3yo boys with us, who were already pretty hungry. Not only was our food not ready, but we couldn't eat it when it was ready because we had to still drive home. It was another 20 minutes after we arrived before our order was ready. There was another lady waiting who lived down the road who said she had eaten at Fuzzys several times in the past, but not in the last 6 months. She said this had not happened to her either. She also had to wait 20 minutes longer than expected.
I understand things happen and food can't always be ready when promised, but why not let us eat our food when it was ready? There was only 1 table of people eating so the night clean up could not have been that bad. I felt so bad for my kids having to sit there, starving, for 20 minutes and then tell them, sorry they cant eat yet.
I just wanted to let you know what happened. Not sure if it is store policy to stop allowing dine in orders 40 min before closing time, but if it is, that is a terrible policy. Perhaps it is just because young kids can be messy and just my family was denied service. I had to wait 20 extra minutes for my food, the closing crew could have stayed a little longer and let us dine in.
I figured I would write you before posting negative reviews online. This was originally an email but the email we were given doesn't exist, so I am...
Read moreThe man at the front register was not very welcoming he was more concerned about his cell phone rather than helping us. It was my very first time there and he offered no guidance on anything at all very smug. We finished ordering I asked for a small drink. He wasn't very nice at saying there's only one size drink. My boyfriend didn't get his choice of second Taco because he was rushing through the order also my boyfriend clearly said egg and shrimp cheese burrito but he charged us for a taco so we got a taco. We proceeded to get drinks and the tea was fermented. Which means it was there all day teas expire within 6 to 12 hours. OR the nozzles have not been cleaned and are building up with fermented tea. As we were leaving other guests where coming in and the man at the register was playing away on his phone rather than greeting and talking to the guests. He sets the mood when coming in considering hes the first employee we see. My boyfriend found fuzzys in south Carolina completly loved it and was so excited to come today that we dropped what he wanted to do to come here. Left highly disappointed. We felt like a complete bother interrupting his Personal time...
