Went to hooked several times last year and loved the fried shrimp. Unfortunately it looks like they changed their supplier and now the shrimp is just like any frozen shrimp you can buy in the supermarket, all breading and very little shrimp. For $15 for six shrimp I expected more. Try something else on the menu, maybe it's better.

Update: last night tried the fish and chips at Hooked. The price was $17, which is about what you would pay at a sit down restaurant, so maybe a little bit pricey, but it is in a resort area. Initially the fish looked good, 2 average size pieces, but after taking a bite, it turned out to be mostly breading and very little fish in both pieces. In fact the breading was so thick, that the crispy outside, which looked nice, had uncooked batter underneath next to the fish, it was quite unappetizing. Fries were good but a very stingy portion. Be a little heavier on the fry hand Hooked. And as far as the breading, less is more, I know a lot of breading makes the fish look bigger, but the disappointment of finding minimal fish and uncooked batter on the inside is not good for...

Katrina belillo this is for you This was the second time there this year and both times food was good but yesterday something happened that I thought was absurd. I ordered $80 worth of food and my dish was one mahi mahi sandwich which comes with fries. I asked the front counter woman if the French fries could be put on a separate paper tray that they serve your food on. She said she doubted it because the cook is too busy. I asked too busy to just separate them?? They are not cooked together. Now the only reason I was doing this was for my 7 year old grandson who is autistic and only eats a handful of things, French fries being one of them and we didn’t want any fish taste on them. Pretty reasonable request I think (and I told her the situation) She said she’d ask him, she came back a minute later and said he said NO, he’s too busy. I wanted to just cancel my order, get my $80 back and say screw off, but we were hungry and it was getting late. I had to order a separate order of fries ($4.95) because someone was to busy to pour them into a separate tray!!!!!! I truly hope the owner reads this and...

Seating here is only outside: you can either sit in the front or along the side. The side of the building has some pretty mendeleeva flowers vining along one side and they play a nice selection of music over the speaker. You place your order at the front for either take-out or outside seating. Then your name is called over the loudspeaker to pick up your order. This is our favorite go-to right now when we're in Montauk. The prices are a little high but you're getting excellent quality food. Mostly fish dishes hence the name "Hooked". This time we had the seafood bisque soup which is sweetened with wine, and I had the the fresh tuna sandwich for $19 served with fries and a homemade cold slaw. I substituted the regular fries with sweet potato fries (extra). My friend had the fried scallops ($14) also served with fries and slaw. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Fish is always fresh and got in the same day. They were offering fresh clam steamers for $28 I believe, while we were there but we...

Delicious! Yummy! Delightful! But.. not sure if it was worth $27 for one lobster roll🤔. Maybe we are just lobster foodies, but the best Lobster roll I ever had in my life was in Maine which had no Mayo, and instead, the bun was a special lobster roll bun not a hotdog bun. I don’t really like Mayo and they didn’t have a non-Mayo option so maybe that’s why I give it 4 stars. We also got the fish tacos which were yummy and looked gorgeous, but could have been better with some guac or avocado on top. We did absolutely enjoy it, I wish I could give it four and a half stars cuz realistically we’d give it 4.5 stars! But because it wasn’t the best lobster roll of our life, we can’t give it the full 5 stars. Otherwise very delicious and yummy. Would still like to come back and eat more lobster rolls in Montauk for sure ☺️🦞! Great job Hooked! For more Long Island reviews, visit us on instagram @andiamoadventure

Pretty neat spot for a quick bite or more! Have to say it’s really pricey. But it’s not surprising for the area and still the food was fresh and really tasty. I recommend the tuna bites, as they were just perfectly crispy and chunky at the same time. I did have to absorb some oil (quite oily, but I wouldn’t expect anything much different from deep fried fish). They were not tiny! And the portion size was very generous. Different story for the swordfish. Tasty, yes, but tiny portion. It was also cut quite thin which made it a little dry. Still decently good but it would have been so much better either way just a quarter inch more thickness. The staff were nice and brought over the tray as I sat outside. Not a bad experience at all would recommend and go back with family next time.

Pretty nice place for a quick pit stop to get food. I got the fish and chips and it was very filling and appetizing. I would rate the fish and chips a 7.5/10. The fish was extremely tender and flavorful. My only “complaint” would be that I wish the batter held a little better. The batter was thin and crispy but since the fish was so tender it would fall off my fork making it harder to eat. It’s nothing detrimental and the good qualities outweigh the bad. They give you a lot for the portion and everything is made fresh from when you order it. The fries were good and had great qualities such as great flavor and a good level of crisp. Overall this place is a personal recommendation and in my opinion a great place to dine.
