Man oh man what an experience here!!!! My wife was adamant we tried her fav sushi spot (Mt Fuji) since it was my first time in town. I was starving, traffic was insane and she told me prices were very expensive but worth it. I found this place on Google with great ratings, and under 100 so I assumed they recently opened. WE ARE SO HAPPY WE WENT HERE!!!! I called to make a res and the guy (I hope I get his name right, Jackie?) was so personable and said look we’re about to be slammed but if you come soon I got a little table for you just come. We arrived and had to wait a little for service but it was totally worth waiting. Food was INSANE. SO FRESH!!!! They had toro!!! Most sushi places don’t offer toro and if they do it better be good. Just as amazing as I had in Japan. We ordered way more food that he was used to… he said that’s a lot you sure…. I said bring it on! We ate every last bite. At the end of the meal we were fist bumpin’ and you could tell every customer in the restaurant was enjoying our service and food as much as we possibly could. We left dinner smiling, laughing, and I will dream about the time I come back to Tarrytown and get to eat here again. PRO TIP: Liquor store walking distance directly across the street to grab saké for BYOB. They don’t serve alcohol but are fine with you bringing your own. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Gochiso...
Read moreTHE MOST UNFRIENDLY RESTAURANT FOR KIDS!!! On Dec 26th, my wife and I took my older daughter and baby daughter to the restaurant with stroller around 12:30. At that time, the restaurant was almost empty. The waiter put us on the small table at the corner of the restaurant . Only one table next to us just finished up and left. When the waiter brought our food to the table, and it was full of hot soups and plates on the table. At the same time, my baby was hungry. My wife told me to feed my six month baby with formula and told me to sit next table because the baby might grab any object on the table especially the hot soups, so I sat next table’s chair to feed my baby. Then, the waiter came and told us to sit back to our table because those tables were reserved for other customers. I told the waiter that I would sit back after feeding our baby. It would take couple minutes. I also couldn’t believe the restaurant chef came out and stood by the waiter’s own mistake. We knew we won’t sit next table’s chair if there were a lot of customers. In this case, there was no any other customer beside my family. It won’t affect the restaurant’s business. It doesn’t matter how good the food taste based on other reviews. If the restaurant doesn’t respect and care its customers, it isn’t worth to spend your money to eat at...
Read moreWe had an excellent experience here. First things first, this is a BYOB establishment. We brought our own beers from home and a bottle of wine from the store across the street.
We ordered the sushi sampler and fried dumplings for starters; Both were very good.
For mains, we ordered a variety of rolls: jumbo spicy tuna, Kyoto roll (shrimp tempura), kamikaze roll (eel & crab meat). The best one was the kamikaze roll because the entire roll is deep fried and comes out warm… it was an interesting experience eating warm sushi. We also ordered the toro sushi, which is a personal favorite of mine and I was not disappointed. The pieces were fatty and buttery.
Service was great, we were checked on by at least two different wait staff. We opted to the Matcha Affogotto for dessert; this wasn’t as great as the other reviews stated, at least in our opinion. The ice cream was so hard that we were sawing at it with our spoons rather than scooping up a nice spoonful.
The restaurant was clean and inviting, nothing too flashy; it seemed like an authentic sushi spot.
Great quality fish, I will...
