After hearing and reading mostly good things about this place I have to say my own experience was extremely disappointing. We stopped in for an early brunch and spent way too much time and money here for food that was just ok. We ordered the shrimp and grits (with what I thought was a side of truffle fries but we’ll get back to that), the seared Moroccan chicken, and the pecan bread pudding for dessert. It took 30 mins for us to get our main course which I wasn’t thrilled about but fine. Especially because when we got there it wasn’t crowded at all. I did really enjoy the shrimp and grits. The Moroccan chicken was also good but wasn’t a show stopper for me, but my bf really liked it. I was also very surprised that for the price ($33!), it didn’t come with any sides. The truffle fries were pretty mediocre for me; not very crispy and not a ton of truffle flavor. What really gets me mad about the fries is that the menu is in my opinion misleading in that all of the brunch menu items (except 2!) can add on a side of salad, some type of fries, or bread for a smaller price. So I thought I was ordering the truffle fries as a $5 side but really I paid $12 for them because the $5 side option didn’t come with the shrimp and grits for some reason? It really doesn’t make any sense to me why this would be the case. And to be fair, it is on the menu and I didn’t read it correctly. So I’d recommend reading the menu carefully so you don’t make that ridiculous mistake. But I definitely wouldn’t have paid $12 for these fries if I had known. I was really interested in the pecan bread pudding as well so we ordered it before we were done with our meal hoping to save some time. 35 minutes later we asked to please cancel it because it still wasn’t out! As we were trying to cancel it it did finally come out and they did give it to us on the house due to the obnoxious wait time. I did appreciate that. It was fine, definitely not worth the wait. Since we spent most of our time waiting for food to come I overheard and saw a lot of concerning things. At least two other people also complained to the workers about long waits/seeming quite displeased. I also watched one worker wipe his finger on the ground and without washing his hands immediately start making coffees/teas and then moved on to cutting meats. I also saw another worker on his hands and knees messing with the table legs and also without washing his hands immediately grabbing cutlery and glasses to set the tables. Very gross. Bottom line, I wouldn’t recommend it. The prices were insane for the amount of food you get and the food was decent but not amazing. I definitely wouldn’t come back.

Overall a great experience, only thing is its pricey for what it is. Overall the burger was amazing and well worth the 26$ with french fries or a salad (or truffle fries for $3 extra), even though there’s a great burger across the street for less. Can I say that the panini was worth over 20$ nope, It was good and the service was amazing. So hence the 4 stars. Also the cheesecake was ok, didn’t resemble anything ricotta cheesecake like, tasted like it was a Bindi cake. I would recommend if they want to “ import” cakes import them from Veniros in NYC for a wonderful ricotta cheesecake, this was a pistachio cake with some sort of fruit sauce on it. Overall though the ambience made up for the downfall of the dessert and definitely the pricey panini, also the little samples of the charcuterie at the start is a great touch.

Everyone…let me tell you about Mint premium foods!! Absolute fantastic establishment to go to as a regular or a destination station for the day. Tarrytown is a beautiful, beautiful village, with so many things to do so many different cultures so many different pallets but this place is absolutely hands-down one of a kind!.. the story, the history, the love that the owners put into it goes right into the quality of the food. The staff appreciates the vision and provide the most upmost attentive and patient service you can ever want for in a restaurant. I love it go there! sit there EAT! and enjoy being away from it all just a little that’s all I’m saying you have to sit and enjoy it and enjoy it on your own and enjoy You will.

I had the most amazing experience with Mint! In June, I decided to throw a surprise birthday party for my sister Karen, who was hitting a “milestone.” I looked at several venues, and then became aware of Mint’s excellent reputation, and after reaching out and having a preliminary conversation with Alberta Jarane, who owns and runs the restaurant with her husband Hassan, I knew that I had a partner in creating something really special. My sister is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and a former chef instructor; she doesn’t need food to be fancy, but she wants it to be really good. At Mint, it really is. The friends and family that I was inviting mostly grew up in NYC in the 60s and 70s, and some of them hadn’t seen each other in a long time. I wanted an atmosphere where they could move around, join into small or large groups, and laugh! Alberta and I had conversations about all of this, and she really understood. We reached an agreement that I would buy out the restaurant for.a Sunday afternoon, and Alberta proposed a perfect menu. I wanted to have a slideshow of pics and video clips of my sister’s life, and Alberta offered to set up her large screen iMac on a table, so we could do that. I wanted to find a great carrot cake for a birthday cake, and Alberta used her connections to get a fantastic cake made at a bakery on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, and she picked it up and had it in the cooler at the restaurant in time for the party. Just perfect! This was all really helpful because I was out of state, and flying in just before the party. The party could not have gone better! All the staff were warm, welcoming, and very skilled. The food and beverages, Including delicious cocktails, were perfect. There was a joyous atmosphere, as everyone celebrated my sister’s birthday and their long friendships, in a warm and inviting atmosphere where they felt nurtured by the delicious food, and the wonderful people who were facilitating the experience. A great time was had by all! Thank you Alberta and Hassan, and all of the wonderful people at Mint. It...

This was a suggested find by one of the locals and they absolutely nailed it!! My wife and I stopped in around 4:30pm on Halloween without a reservation but were still seated immediately. The dining room is in the back, thought there are some tables in front and outside on the sidewalk. But we were led through the counter area where a veritable smorgasbord of eats, sweets, treats, and accompaniments canbe found and purchased along with assorted olive mixes, meats, and cheeses. The rear dining area is secluded and mostly private. Service is considerably slower than you'd be accustomed to at a chain/franchise restaurant where they're trying to turn over the tables as much as possible. Here, it's a very slow paced experience so you can take in everything from your company, to the wonderful food, to the decor and articles of memorabilia. The restaurant owner is French Moroccan so there is plenty of "Casablanca" items of note as well as an overall layout of North African/Arabic design and flair. Our hostess was very pleasant receiving us with a smile and exuberance at the news it was out anniversary. Our server was very attentive but not overly involved, offering plenty of good suggestions and taking note of our interests. The food was amazing! The French Baked Brie with olives, fig puree, and sweet miny garnish was visually magnificent and so incredibly delicious! My wife had a Cubano Pannini and I had rhe days special of Lamb Chops and those dishes were lip-smackingly scrumptious! We had an absolutely wonderful time and picked up a few simple things on our way out, but not without the owner shoving dark chocolate covered pomegranate and cocoa covered almonds in my hand while trying to make out purchases. The prices for everything were very reasonable and we look forward to returning and enjoying this amazing little...
