Main Street Sweets — Restaurant in Town of Greenburgh

Located on Main Street in the heart of Tarrytown, this ice cream parlor serves up delicious and fresh ice cream. It reminds me of an old fashioned ice cream parlor that I used to eat at in Manhassett, Swenson's, who calked sprinkles "bennies". We just finished a late lunch at Sweetgrass Grill and wanted something sweet, just a little ice cream. We entered Main Street Sweets and surveyed the treats: there were cookies, cakes and coffee selections. My friend wanted the small pumpkin cheesecake slice and I scanned the ice cream selections: coffee, maple nut, vanilla and then I came across the Main Street Special. I decided to try a small scoop. There is no dining inside thus we took our treats outside and ate them seated at bench outside shop. My friend loved her pumpkin cheesecake: she liked that it wasn't overly sweet and loved the pumpkin flavor. I loved my ice cream: the creaminess and texture of the ice cream was scrumptious and the small scoop contained a nice portion of fudge and chocolate pieces. Love this place! It’s honestly one of the cutest spots I’ve been to, and the vibe alone makes you want to keep coming back. But the real star here is the ice cream. Their homemade ice cream is hands down some of the best I’ve ever had creamy, fresh, and packed with flavor in every bite.

What really impressed me is how good their vegan ice cream is. A lot of places treat vegan options as an afterthought, but here they taste just as rich and satisfying as the regular flavors. You’d never know the difference!

They have such a fun mix of unique flavors alongside the classics, so whether you’re adventurous or just craving your go-to favorite, you’ll find something to love. Every time I come, I’m tempted to try something new.

The staff is super friendly too, which adds to the whole experience. It’s clear they care about the quality of what they make and the happiness of their customers. Between the atmosphere, the service, and the ice cream itself, this place is a gem.

I was up in Tarrytown this week with my mom and we decided to treat ourselves to some ice cream on Monday...and then Tuesday and twice on Wednesday! I am addicted to the Honey Lavender Ice Cream! I am not the most adventurous. I was going to stick with a tried and true favorite like vanilla caramel (caramel is never a wrong choice) or cake batter or cookie dough. But the boy behind the counter offered me a sample when I mentioned it sounded interesting. It was really really good!! I wasn't sure if I'd want a full cone of it so I got one scoop the Honey Lavender and one scoop Vanilla Caramel in a waffle cone. Great choice and that's what I got every time! My mom got a soft serve with sprinkles that she loved and I don't remember what else. We treated my dad to a cone when he met us.
