I've been coming to Lake George for numerous years and I have to say this place has gone downhill service and food just nothing special anymore just mediocre Ordered the eggs over easy with corned beef hash I also said that I would like to try their smoked bacon The waitress ended up just giving me two eggs on a plate with bacon I definitely said my order very clearly so it was a little irritating to wait a very long time to get the wrong order. Also the meal doesn't come with toast.... the corned beef hash was from a can. The place really advertises smoked meat like they're from Quebec but all they offer is a smoked ham and smoked bacon which is awesome just disappointing. My son ordered French toast that are stuffed and basically it was some really gross warm Jam in between too thick chewy French toast. The service the hostess was beyond Rude the first thing that she said to us when we walked in was not Hi how are you it was I don't know if you guys really want to wait 30 minutes to eat here. Lol We walked in and we knew that there would be a wait.. and all honesty it was definitely not worth the wait. Like I said our waitress was overly friendly to try to make up the fact that she just wasn't a great waitress I ordered one thing and then added on bacon for the table to try and all she probably was two eggs with bacon.. Lol
When we go up to Lake George I will definitely not be...
Read moreI came here for breakfast on July 4th weekend, we had to wait 45 minutes for a table for 2 which seemed to be standard across town for any breakfast spot that day. The restaurant had no air conditioning so it was quite stuffy inside. Our waitress was friendly but not overly enthusiastic about her job. I got 2 eggs scrambled and a pancake to try, my girlfriend got 2 eggs scrambled with sausage links and toast. The eggs were good, and tasted as you’d expect, the pancake was pretty good, not the best I’ve ever had but not bad, on a positive note they do serve real maple syrup and not that corn syrup garbage you get at other restaurants. Their signature maple butter was pretty good too and it’s subtly sweet. The negative regarding the food was the sausage links, they were absolutely horrible, borderline inedible. They were small, stiff and we could tell they were most likely frozen and microwaved. We didn’t even eat them. Another negative was the price of coffee, $4 for a 6 ounce coffee is a little pricey, another breakfast spot nearby charges $3.75 and they leave a whole pot of coffee for your table! Overall there are better breakfast spots in town to try...
Read moreIt's a rare 5 because the state of the world being what it is, there are only about 3 breakfast spots in Lake George and hundreds of people are trying to get in to them. I woke, walked over and put my name in, was told no less than 25 minutes, came back 45 minutes later and was called in immediately (my good luck).
The decor was Adirondak kitsch which I love, with stories of Flap Jack Pete and guide boats and antlers in the ceiling. The staff was running around but our server slowed her very fast roll and connected with us, did not rush or or seemed rush at any point. The other servers commented that "finally" we had made it in not knowing we hadn't been waiting but showing a cool concern and recognition of the crazy times.
Our food came out quickly and it was as good as breakfast gets, I had the waffle, homefries and hash...The Cinnamon butter is a great thing! My son had pancakes and my wife had scrambled eggs. Both of the egg eaters commented on how delicious the eggs were. Yes, the cooking of eggs is an art and these folks know it!
Food was quick, service wasn't rushed, coffee was delicious, tea came with extra hot water and orange...
