Kicking Country Restaurant - Lake George — Restaurant in Town of Lake George

We went there for dinner Saturday night with group of 8 adults. It seemed like a nice place and received good reviews, all be it not many. It took a while for the server to take our order. The place wasn't busy so we figured it wouldn't take long to receive our meals...wrong it took over forty five minutes and when the dishes arrived they were all subpar. Two in the party ordered the salmon, both were way overcooked and dry. Two in the party ordered the same steak dish. One was very small, burnt on the outside cold on the inside. The other steak was overcooked and it was gray in color. One person ordered the fish sandwich which could best be described as a long fish stick on a hotdog bun. Two of us ordered burgers, one was totally well done, completely dry and mine was the mushroom burger which was cold in the middle. One person in the party ordered chicken wings, which were never served, we had to ask for them and by the time they arrived we were all ready to leave. All eight dinners were sent back an we left. So to sum it up the person or persons that are cooking the food has no idea what they are doing. Without a major staff overhaul, would be surprised if this place stays open over a year. Food was very good and came out quick (not too many busy tables). Service/atmosphere was not as great.

Service: Upon being seated inside we were walked past multiple times with no one acknowledging us until a waitress from a different area noticed we had been sitting there for quite some time. Finally our waitress came and took our drink order (just 2 waters) and we put in an order of fried pickle sticks (they were great!). We were again waiting- about 10 minutes- when our appetizer came out (can’t complain about quick timing for appetizers!). However, we were sitting at our table with still no water, no plates… just a basket of fried pickles eating them over a napkin. We were halfway done when the waitress came back over with our waters then went to get us plates.

Atmosphere: It’s quite loud inside from their music that isn’t at all “dinner music”. More like dancing music at a late night bar. It was extremely bass heavy so lots of “thumping” and was very hard to have a conversation and hear...

Such a fun atmosphere! The servers wear cowboy hats and boots, and the decor nods towards an old west saloon. Gorgeous wood, high ceilings, and warm lighting make you look and feel great in here! This is a perfect place to bring your family or your date.

Our server Yana was beyond perfect. Her flawless service and friendly smile made the meal taste even better. She even took our restless 4-year-old to visit a chicken decoration, which changed the little one’s mood right around!

We started with drinks from the resident bartender, Nikola, who is a European champion and has designed signature cocktails for the restaurant! His drinks did not disappoint. Our table tried and tasted each other’s cocktails and they were all spectacular. He even invented a non-alcoholic cocktail on the spot for our teenager!

Our food was delicious as well! Huge, juicy fried chicken sandwiches, super crispy wings, mozzarella sticks, and steak topped with a generous amount of perfect bacon and blue...
