FOOD: The food was not good. For what it consists of, I've been to other places which have served much better. Both my mother and father ordered eggs, potatoes, and toasts, and the egg whites in both dishes were not fully cooked. (They weren't gelatinous, but rather just before fully cooked.) They also ordered a stack of french toast, which was coated in too much powdered sugar. (Trust me, you can make better french toast at home in about five minutes.) I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel with bacon and cheddar, on which I received only one small fried egg (Though, I will admit: The bagel itself was pretty good); and a strawberry banana smoothie which tasted off. There may have been a vanilla-like flavoring in the smoothie that caused the off taste.

SERVICE: You order your food up front, then you sit down at a table. Unfortunately, you pay for your food before it's served, so there will possibly be a refusal for a refund if the food or service was terrible. In addition, the short woman with glasses got flustered in the middle of taking our order over my mother bringing in an outside beverage, and forgot half of our order, thus bringing out pancakes instead of french toast, and completely forgetting my order. (I understand the business aspect of not accepting outside beverages; but for a tourist town, nobody wants to walk all the way back to their car about three blocks over just to put away their beverage. Also, the beverage in question was simply a water bottle with not even ten sips left.) We had to wait a dozen minutes for the french toast and breakfast sandwich, and by the time they came out, my parents were already finished with their breakfast.

AMBIENCE: When you first enter, the air is filled with the scent of coffee, which brought us high hopes. (Until later, of course.) The front entrance is cozy like how a café is supposed to be, and you see how large the kitchen is. However, the back of the business is not as pleasant.

Overall, I would not return here. I'm sure there are many better breakfast-serving businesses to choose from in Lake George, NY. It's a pity to realize this place has potential considering both its location and interior, but doesn't utilize such potential. But, it's a restaurant in a tourist town, so of course it's designed to only cater well to tourists during...

Let me start off by saying we have eaten at the old location numerous times and have always loved the quality and ambiance made us feel like we were in Manhattan. When we learned they moved location we were excited and happy for this small little high-quality Cafe nestled in the Adirondack mountains. Unfortunately we were highly disappointed with our anticipation. Let me start by saying it took over 10 minutes to have a waitress over to our table to serve us water and take our order during a dead period, it probably would have been much longer if we didnt ask the hostess for service. We had a party of 4 and had 3 place settings. I asked for Grilled English muffins as one of my side, it came back toasted. When I told the waitress we were missing a place setting and the Englush Muffin wasn't grilled she got defensive with me then walked off with it. When my order was served they replaced cheddar cheese with american cheese, when I brought this to her attention she was arguing with me and telling me I ordered something that I didnt which is why there was American cheese. Finally she realized she was wrong and took back the food to remake it correctly. When I finally had a chance to eat, the ingredients was that of a greasy spoon, very low cost budget ingredients. To the left of us we had the town drunk boisterously talking about his job as a garbage man, the couple to the right of us walked out for who knows what reason. We over heard the staff saying "it happened again" I guess people walking out at the new Cafe Vero is common practice these days? When we looked over at the table that had walked out I noticed how disgusting and weathered the walls were, then noticed the booths needed replacing and then how disgusting the floor was where we sat. What used to be our favorite place in Lake George is now a trash dive and has now become a family joke we will be sure to tell our friends and...

If I could give this place a 0 I would. My two friends went there this morning and what happened to them is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. They walked in one with a 9 month old baby and another with a SERVICE animal. Ordered their food and sat down, after sitting the OWNER who is in his 50s walked over and was EXTREMELY rude to the lady with the service dog saying they could NOT be in the restaurant or have their food. The owner was yelling right next to my friends 9 month old who was seated in a high chair. My friend who is not confrontational walked up front and asked for their food to go which the blonde with glasses told them no. They didn’t give my friend a refund and or their food even though they had ALREADY paid!!!! After asking if she could at least have her coffee that AGAIN she ALREADY paid for the rude clerk tossed the cup to her. This place needs to be held accountable and this WILL be discussed to the BBB. Cops should have been called and they should be FINED! I hope the owner who is NOT young should never end up needing a service animal. I will do everything in my power to make sure this is handled! I have read MANY reviews regarding him denying service animals which is illegal. He’s disgusting, the front women is disgusting and this place should be ASHAMED. You can’t take someone money and not give a service! STAY AWAY!!!!! Being a local it makes me sad and upset how someone can treat two young WOMEN like this. 😡😡😡😡🤢🤢🤢🤢

  • Edit since response* I am NOT lying and what I wrote DID happen. I wouldn't just hop on to write a fake review. Sorry that you were called out, and also read all your other reviews sir. This clearly is NOT the first time this has happened. It is not wrong what I did, it is wrong what YOU did and how you handled this situation. I want everyone to know how this business is ran and what to...

Oh man. A dump. Was sorry we came here. Any flavored coffee was sweetened (at least that's what I was told). That should be specified when people order your coffee. I came to the front desk again (had to wait in line all over) and I asked for an unsweetened cup. The girl acted like she made me a huge favor and gave me something outrageously unique. . When I began drinking it, it was super sweet again! You have to order and pay at the register before finding a seat. This is not a hip enough place to do that. Looks like a beat up diner with super small portions, overpriced items (regular 2 eggs with meat, toast and a very small portion of hushbrowns come out to $15!?) and a very sweetened coffee. Bathrooms are tiny, no working paper towel dispenser and just dirty and old. The only attractive feature is that brick wall upfront. The rest of the place is just blah. I never leave diner hungry, and this time I did. Our tiny meal maybe will last 1.5 hours. Paid over $70 for two adult egg meals and three kid menu items (not full meals). Kids eggs do not come with hash browns. Just a total rip off. The only highlight of the meal was the ONLY girl who was working hard with a smile on her face. It was Bianca. She's a keeper. If I was the owner, I would fire all of those little girls who were just walking back and forth. This girl had a better customer service and work ethic than all those teen girls combined.

the berry mimosa... i could've stopped there and call it a great start to the day... but breakfast was unfortunately affected by the service of one particular staff... i believe the only guy in the foh... wife ordered... didn't take her name and just said the drinks are going to be served in the corner... other people got their names called... took a while before we realized wife's coffee is already there... not even the name of the ordered coffee was called... food came to the table... missing the kids menu included milk... my son went back to the the cashier to follow up for it... same guy went to our table and pointed out "the kids menu french toast is there" with the tone... and we just said "the kids milk?"... the guy went back to the kitchen and gave us a glass of milk while apologizing... with the glass looking really tired and worn out it should've been retired... if your coffee prices are like similar to starbucks then pretty sure you can afford disposable cups... look if you don't want to work there then just leave... let other people have the opportunity to work there and make it better... like one of the staff that proactively asked me if i've been helped...
