Important: NOT a Japanese restaurant. It is more like an Asian Fusion restaurant. Only the sushi chefs are Japanese, as I was able to communicate with them. Not purely Japanese food, but small Asian dishes with unique touches. For example, I loved the veggie and mushroom spring rolls (4) with a mango sauce, which I recommend. I do not recommend the "beignet," as it is certainly not one. It is fried the same way fried ice cream is, which tastes very different. You would never know by the low-key outside appearance of this place what wonderful delights await you inside. It's a small informal place, no fancy decor... all of the attention here is on the food, and it shows. Super high quality sushi and really creative and delicious cooked dishes. Was served rancid fish , tuna was chopped up grey and tasted extremely fishy. When I raised the issue to the waiter he said it was fine and that I was complaining about nothing, even when I pointed out someone else’s tuna roll at my table which was a normal pink/purple hue. He assured me my fish was fine and that it was simply just from a different part of the fish. Just that one piece I ate was enough to make me feel sick.
