Just a little history of the business that was here before this one to make a comparison:

The pizzeria that used to be here was known as Mario's for a very long time and was owned by a completely different owner. I went there for years and it truly went downhill due to an uncomfortable management change and more aggressive customers becoming regulars at peak hours. Also, the booths were very small, the phone was constantly broken (static and disconnections), and the cost of the pizza was increasing (while no changes to the pizza or anything extra was offered). Also, believe it or not, in terms of delivery, they laid the cheese on sloppily all of the time causing an actually disgusting hardened sludge of cheese at a corner of the box... And I'm a cheese lover! It made me stop ordering extra cheese pizzas from them. I could only trust one guy to deliver any pizza decently. They were not able to compete with their rivals, such as Gino's (which I love also.)

Now... Rosa's: My first order was in December. This is the kind of pizza you want. There are 3 options of pizza sizes I know of--a personal, 15", and awesome 18"! 18" is heaven. The pizza is just a little less expensive than Mario's, but there is a couple of things that make it not "basic." For one thing, the pizza sauce is mostly sweet, but has some gentle spices mixed into it. Everyone knows that the sauce is the most important part of the pizza. Also, they don't use the same sauce for EVERY red-sauce dish. They will NOT cheat you with toppings--you will get a great amount, if not more than expected, and that's great! Also, the extra cheese doesn't feel like a layer of cheese glued on top of it. They have a LOT of new options that Mario's did not have--for that, I recommend looking at their latest menu. They even have a gluten free personal pizza! There is a little bit of a NYC hue to it due to the variety of food. And though their delivery time is about the same as Mario's (30-45 minutes), they have always brought me 18" pizzas with NO spillage. None! And I tested this with ordering heavier toppings! The first time I ordered from them, they actually gave me an order of garlic knots on-the-house. How cool is that??? Also, they were NOT hard like Mario's (a.k.a. selling leftovers), and this was in the evening! Soft on the inside with a crunchy outside, tied tight and covered in garlic butter and garlic! I've ordered and ate here a couple of times now and have not regretted or felt "this is good enough, I guess." It's March now, so they have a good track-record so far. Personally, I've always been a fan of more urban-style pizza, and the people who run the business know that and don't treat you with the Great Neck 'tude (I'm a resident of over 20 years). I hope they'll stick around in this ghost town and continue to grow!

Much love from...

"I recently had an unfortunate experience at this pizza place. I placed a phone order for three pies and encountered some issues with the service. The person taking my order seemed impatient and the interaction felt abrupt and rude. I was told the order would be ready in 25 minutes, and I arrived promptly. When I inquired about the status of my order, I was told it would be ready in a few minutes. However, I became concerned when I noticed that the worker had just placed three pies in the oven. I asked if those were my pizzas, and the person identifying himself as the owner engaged in a somewhat irrelevant conversation about my profession instead of addressing the delay and neglect. My order was more than half an hour late, causing frustration and hunger among six kids waiting in our cars. Despite the inconvenience, I decided not to cancel the order. I believe - shared with the “second generation entitled teenager” identifying himself as the owner, that a simple apology for the delay and inconvenience would have gone a long way in improving the situation. He laughed and continued to engage in irrelevant and stupid conversation. I hope that the owner or management takes this feedback seriously, as the establishment has the potential to be great, and I would like to see it return to the quality I...

Been a customer at this location for many years, going back to even before it was Rosa's, when it was Mario's. Never had a problem with either establishment until recently, within the last 6 months or so. Service at Rosa's has been absolutely terrible!! I don't know why, but in all the years I've been a customer, I've never experienced such bad service back to back to back. Maybe new management? I don't know. Regardless, I did keep going despite the terrible service & the extremely rude manager because we all have bad days. Unfortunately, their service continues to be terrible, the so called manager (i don't know if it actually is the manager or not) is still very rude and as a longtime customer, I would rather give my money to other local pizzerias like Gino's or Francesca's that have continously provided better service, friendly staff & great food. It's a shame, but they lost a longtime...

I’ve been ordering pizza from Rosa’s for over a year now and I’ve rarely had any issues with the service. However, when I ordered my pizza today it had spilled over on to the side of the box and was very poorly cut. Half the pizza had no cheese left on it. I called back to inform Rosa’s. I was offered a new pizza but before I could tell them that won’t be necessary, I was immediately accused of “pulling this before.” The man, who I’m assuming is the manager, continuously accused me of trying to scam them out of an extra pizza until I hung up. They have lost a regular customer today because of their disgusting customer service.

Regular cheese pizza sucks. Outer dough is hard but the base shotgun so when you hold the pizza it feels off balance. Cheese and tomato sauce is just piled on top pizza of the dough. Puddles of tomato sauce is visible. Sauce and cheese has not melted into a golden crust. Quality of ingredients is ok so at least the flavor still taste rich so there appears to be lack of attention in the finer details of the process. It was good before. I fell in love with was Rosa’s pizza which I ate at school party. Chicken broccoli looks ok but I will never eat my cheese pizza ever again. :(

I have lived in New York my entire life and this is the best pizza I have ever had. My family only orders from here because it is just so freaking good! Any slice or anything you get here is the best! I was in Florida for a few months and all I wanted when I came back to New York was some Rosa’s pizza. They even have gluten free options. If you want pizza and you’re in great neck or Long Island and want the best just go to Rosa’s and you can thank me later.
