Doug's Pretty Good Pub — Restaurant in Town of Philipstown

A beautiful, authentic and optimal experience! Definitely a place to remember. This place will be one of my favorites. I should come back more often! I highly recommend you try this hidden little gem. We love to visit this small, beautiful town by boat, and we also decided to have lunch for Father’s Day. We were all welcomed at the door by the young gentleman with long hair, he opened the door for us as I simply didn’t expect it! He was also our server, who was extremely pleasant in his interaction, attentive, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and kind. He said that how well-behaved my daughter was comparing to other kids, and as soon as my daughter heard what he said, she instantly smiled with giggles was worth billions to watch! Perfect portions (at least for me) and appropriate timing. I ordered patty melt and glazed Brussel sprouts. Absolutely hit the spot! The ambiance is eclectic. A great place to grab a drink before dinner. For everyone wishing a good time and a genuine refined afternoon, should be on the list. The space isn’t anything special. It is actually a bit dark.

The food isn’t anything special either. Typically you wouldn’t expect much from a pub but the truth is coming from the city I have had some of the best burgers, wings, and fries at pubs; so that is no longer the expectation.

Their burgers come in an English muffin, so that is different. But their meat DOES NOT HAVE SALT OR PEPPER !!!!! They intentionally say they don’t add it in their menu but they also say it is delicious so you would think that if they don’t add salt or pepper they would add herbs or something else to give it flavor but the burger didn’t taste like anything really.

The fries are also the type that seem to be out of a bag.

The staff is indifferent if you are not a local/regular and the prices are similar to that of the city without any of the flavor, charm, and attention you would expect with the price tag.

If you are looking for a beer, sure give it a try. If you want food, go...

It was awful experience. I checked the rating before I go. People gave this place was great. I am telling the truth based on the fact. As I walked into the bar today and I was at the door,There was an old gentleman ( I think he is the owner) came to me (and my family) and said the place is full and tried to kick us out. He did not even say felt sorry, or any other explanation..and I was pretty sure that I found at least seats were empty and floor was entirely empty.typically bar should be full of people who is standing pn the floor. I do not believe that bar is full. No one was even stand up with two empty seat. I felt really bad and I stepped out because my wife felt bad.so I told him we did not feel to come in his place anyway.

I cant tell the food is great or not because the owner kicked us out. I found same feedback below. He did for anothee customer. Certainly I do not recommend this place. If the owner does ot, i am preety sure othet...
