I came here on Saturday with a group of 5 around 5-6pm. The new location is so nice! Larger than before so you can always find a spot. They even accommodated for our large group and pushed two table together for us. As for the food, we got two pho Dac Biet, 1 beef fried rice, and two bun rieus. One of my friends eats no meat so they surprised us with a bun rieu with shrimp. It was so thoughtful. My motherland is south Vietnam so I usually drench my pho with sauces and lime.. sorry not sorry.. but to be “respectful” I always take a few sips of broth before I chef it up. The broth is rich and fragrant. I loved that they gave me my own vegetable plate too. I hate when I gotta share with the table. There is never enough. I took a bite out of eat person plate though.. hehe so the bun rieu was delicious, both noodle plates were fragrant and the fresh noodles was chefs kiss. We enjoyed the additional freshness it added to our meals. The crab & shrimp pate was seasoned and soft. The beef fried rice was so good. It even came with a sauce even though I don’t think it was necessary but it did add alittle razzle dazzle. You can tell it was made with broken day old rice and fried in a wok. They light roasted taste was there. I’m sorry we were all fat and did not take pictures. Next time I will come through with it. I will be coming again. As for the beverages we got two coconut juices and a Thai tea. They were so aesthetically pleasing but I guzzzled that down. The coconut juice has real coconut meat and wasn’t too sweet. The Thai tea has a good balance of tea and cream, the flavor was there. Finally, customer service was on point. For a place that has just opened they very well staffed. Supporting eachother and checking on tables periodically. I love going to my hole in the wall Asian restaurants but it’s really a nice change of pace to go to one that looks aesthetically pleasing and food is on point. Again, I will be a regular and would...
Read moreI decided to meet a friend for an early lunch. Thankfully, we showed up when they opened because shortly after we sat down, the place was packed! The menu is rather extensive; there are so many options. Once I spotted ox tail pho 🤤, I knew that was what I was going to order. We each also ordered the Vietnam coffee and decided to split the banana cake. If you like mango sticky rice, you'll love its vietnamese banana cousin, the banana cake. The exterior rice was warm and absolutely smothered in sweet coconut cream. The banana underneath still had some heft to it, which was a nice change in texture to the soft rice. The pho broth is so clean and perfectly salted. There was almost no need to add any sauces, except I like mine spicy so I added Sriracha, some lime, and a little bit of basil but the broth was incredibly delicious on its own, I could drink it out of a mug. The ox tail pieces must have adhered to the bone by just the smallest of fibers because once I sunk my teeth into it, the meat happily separated from its boney partner to be gobbled up by yours truly. The Vietnamese coffee was bold and not overly sweet, which is exactly the way I like it. The strength of the coffee and the soft sweetness of the banana cake was a pairing I'm dieing to have again. I wasn't a huge fan of the noodles in the pho. Although they were made in-house, they clumped together and were hard to separate even in the steaming broth so I ended up eating chunks of noodles rather than the satisfying slurp you get from the standard rice noodles served at other restaurants. This is one of my new favorite places for pho, and I will be visiting again to try other things on the menu and will order a broth to-go for...
Read moreThis place is very shady.
You should look at the bad reviews here. I suspect many 5 stars reviews in here are FAKE.
The food is pricy for what it is. The bowl might look big but that does not mean there's more food. What shady about it is that they auto charged 18% for service fee for a 5 people table, THEN default to another gigantic screen for another 20% TIP 😳. If you do nothing, then it means you pay 38% tip 😳😳😳. I am mot even sure those waiters get that tip either. They also do NOT give you the receipt unless you ask for it. Why? I can only guess so you don't find out the 38% tip. Not coming back.
Oh I ate at many places and never seen a $5 for a soda can. What a joke.
I also wonder how many fake reviews they have on here. What a shady business.
Responses to the onwers:
I stand by what I said above except one minor correction about the waiter asked if I do want the receipt.
No, the 4 year old kid didn't eat or made a mess. You guys just wanted to use that to make some extra $$$.
You are right about the waiter asked me if I want a receipt. But you should simply give your customers the receipt. Isn't that the norm when you go to all the restaurants here in the States.
If you changed service fee already, why not make the tip OPTIONAL instead of defaulting the screen to a 20% TIP? If that is not deceptive, what is?
Also you are wrong about I don't want to see my fellow Việt succeed. In fact I am just the opposite. True. I just simply hate the deceitful tactics some used (you know what I am talking about) and you are one of those. If you look at the 1-2 star review here, the majority, sadly, seem to come from Việt.
Of course I will spend my money...
