I am legit confused about the reviews for this restaurant, if you are looking for GOOD Italian food and a positive dining experience. I was greeted less than warmly, as if I were there to deliver supplies, rather than eat. The first words said to me were "do you need something?" Ummm, yes, a table?
Right there, off to a bad start.
From there, I felt like a burden to the staff. She seemed to thoroughly enjoy carding me; I am not 80, also not a spring chicken. it would not have even been an issue if the server didn't make such a big deal out of it and then she did not card anyone else who was seated after me. But "we card everyone." Except you don't.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely disgraceful. The caprese salad reminded me of something they would serve you at the Olive garden. Which, if you like Olive garden then you should eat there. But if you want high quality Italian food that's what your caprese salad should be. High quality. ESPECIALLY the cheese.
The bread was stale and not freshly made as claimed. The olive oil was good.
I ordered chicken parmesan as my main course and it was utterly terrible. I legitimately felt like I was on an episode of kitchen nightmares when she put the plate down in front of me, I thought it was a joke.
There was a mixture of green bean and carrot on one side of the plate it was wilted and severely overcooked and weighed down with oil. I cannot even tell you what the other side dish was because not only did I not recognize it but it was covered in about 2 and a 1/2 in of shaved Parmesan cheese. It was all so saturated in oil to the point that it was nauseating. I think it was risotto which should not be difficult to identify but alas here we are.
The chicken parmesan was pounded down to about a tenth of an inch thick. If it was coated in breadcrumbs I wouldn't be able to tell it was brown and congealed and soggy. It was also covered completely with some blend of very cheap cheese. Half of the cheese was burnt.
I felt like the wait staff was embarrassed putting that plate down in front of me. and they should have been. There was absolutely no discerning flavor in anyting that was on that plate. I paid I dropped the leftover containers in the garbage and I went home.
The next day I went to the Marianna Italian restaurant in Renton, where they care about and respect they're guests and where they put the appropriate amount of attention into the food and into the food service. This was my first time at either restaurant. I chose this particular restaurant off of the reviews on Google which this is the first time the reviews have ever been completely wrong.
If you want good food and respectful service, particularly since your paying 4-star restaurant prices, this restaurant is absolutely horrible and you should never eat there. if you like the food at this restaurant then congratulations your taste buds are completely...
Read moreThis was the letter I sent Grazie Ristorante about our extremely unsatisfying recent experience at their Southcenter location. Unfortunately, I have not heard back from them despite this letter being sent 2 weeks ago. If you're considering dining there, I would strongly suggest you spend your hard earned money elsewhere l.
To Whom This May Concern:
My husband and I have been coming to Grazie Ristorante in Tukwila for the past 5 years to celebrate my birthday. Although it's a bit of a drive, we happily travel North for the atmosphere, remarkable staff and the phenomenal food. However, I was immensely disappointed tonight.
I understand that it is a Friday, and the Friday after Valentine's Day which meant the restaurant was busier and wait time for food would be longer. Coming from a restaurant background those factors were both expected and understandable. What I did not expect was an abrupt waitress who couldn't be found to ask about the status of our appetizer until she showed up with our main courses. When asked about it she merely informed us that "they forgot about it". She later came back to tell us that the ticket had gotten lost and that the item was taken off our bill then immediately walked away. She did not ask if we still wanted the dish, did not offer an apology and she walked away as I was talking to her. I had to flag another staff member down to ask if I could still get the appetizer since it was something I had been looking forward to.
This is not the customer service we are accustomed to receiving at Grazie. Furthermore, my meal and my appetizer looked as if they were haphazardly thrown on the plate. To make matters worse, neither of my dishes tasted like the dishes I've come to expect from this establishment. It made for an extremely poor dining experience.
Receiving poor service was enough to ruin a night out to celebrate my birthday. Receiving food that was unappealing AND unappetizing made it worse. Tonight's dining experience wasn't just disappointing it felt like a waste; a waste of time, a waste of a celebration and a waste of money. I have never left Grazie wishing I had chosen a different restaurant...
Read moreThis is my wife and I's favorite place to eat in Washington. They are not a chain and make almost everything in house from scratch which is awesome for two reasons. One, its delicious. Two, my wife has lots of food allergies and the chefs easily make delicious changes tailored to her allergies. The food is simply BOMB. They also have a set up to make their pasta dishes gluten free if you have gluten allergies. The food is amazing, the dessert is indescribable (so far the chocolate mousse with raspberry reduction and key lime pie are our favorites) and the prices are very reasonable. I realize price is subjective so for an example; we recently took my mom and dad out for dinner, we got two appetizers, two salads, four entrees, two desserts, and two bottles of wine for $200. The place is tiny though, gets packed fast, and can get pretty loud. As long as you can deal with that during peak hours this place is a must visit in my humble opinion. They also send all their staff to Italy to learn about food and wine! Seriously such a great Ristorante with that good ole' community, mom's home cooking, small town feeling. Service has also been mosyly great. I used to work at the Claim Jumpers close by (back when it was still owned by the founder) and thus have a high standard of what service should be. Jorge has been by far the coolest person there I've been a guest of to date. The only person I was a guest of that I wasn't ecstatic about was caused more by what seemed like a conceded attitude and ridiculous shiny belt buckle (could have been a cool if he didnt come across as such a prude) more than...
