I think I may have come at a bad time. If I’m ever traveling through the area in the future I might try it again. The poor girl running the store and drive through alone related that she was in training and her trainer was not there. The trainer walked in when we were leaving 20 minutes later. It took quite awhile for the employee to figure out how to ring up my order and then it took a long time to get my coffee. It was disappointingly lukewarm. Flavor was just okay, not at all what I anticipated. I ordered a snickerdoodle latte and couldn’t taste much more than plain coffee and milk. I did not bring it up to the employee because she was overwhelmed with all of the customers and orders she had to fill completely alone. The trainer unfortunately fixed her hair right in front of us (using a clip she had in her mouth) during all of this without washing her hands. The bathroom had no toilet paper. There were cobwebs in the windows. Otherwise the place was adorable and comfortable. Im not faulting the employee because she should not have been alone while in training. She should not have opened the place at all with the clearly limited knowledge she had acquired. I’m hoping the owners read the reviews and put more effort into aesthetics and training/staffing because it’s a great concept with lots of seemingly good menu options. But I was really disappointed today.because I wanted a good hot cup of coffee before I hit the road and did not get it. The other two people with me ended up getting their money back and throwing out the coffee. That was truly disappointing because we opted out of having coffee at the hotel so we could have a good cup of craft coffee as advertised on the website. I paid almost $8 with a 15% tip. Money and time...
Read moreThree stars just for being a coffee shop that serves food in Tupelo. There are so few that this is a rare commodity and therefore somewhat valuable.
Experience: We ordered via the drive-thru on a Sunday around noon after looking at the menu online (hoping for something to replace the staggering loss of Butterbean). Ordered a breakfast burrito, sausage egg & cheddar english muffin, strawberry banana smoothie, and almond milk latte with a shot of toffee flavoring. The shot of flavor was very confusing for them and I had to repeat it so many times that I eventually asked if this was against the rules and if so I could pick something else. They said it’s ok. We get to the window and they say strawberry banana isn’t an option. My boyfriend asks what the options are and if the mix is powdered. (I personally would never have thought to ask this, but…) The girl brings out a box of liquid that says something like strawberry concentrate on it. We politely declined and opted for a bottled diet coke.
Results: The english muffin was microwaved; the sausage was gross. I honestly prefer Starbucks’ toaster oven to the cardboard effect their microwave has on their food. Breakfast burrito was better but same sausage quality. Salsa tastes remarkably like ketchup. Latte was weak and taste basically like drip coffee. For a place that actually offers things like double shots and cortados, I was surprised. Diet Coke was great.
I personally will not be back to Just Love Coffee, but glad Tupelo has...
Read moreHi, I wanted to share some feedback about my visit today. I came in looking forward to trying a new drink I had seen online, but the cashier didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. I completely understand if she was new, but when she asked her coworker for help, the coworker responded rudely and said they didn’t have the right ingredients.
I stepped aside to figure out a different order, but when I came back, the cashier seemed visibly annoyed. She didn’t smile or offer any kind of friendly attitude, and neither did her coworker. Both had unfriendly expressions and just looked like they didn’t want to be there.
While I waited for my drink, I watched as the newer worker handled the drive-through while the other one just stood there chatting with her instead of helping or working on my order. Eventually, when my drink was finally made, it was handed to me with no smile or warmth, just a rude tone.
This was only my second time visiting this location, and I had really liked it the first time. But after today’s experience, I’m not sure I’ll be coming back. I hope this helps bring awareness to the importance of...
