Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Tupelo

I have been eating Steak And Shake my whole life being originally from St Louis so i know how wonderful Steak And Shake normally is. I have lived in this part of the country for many years now and was so excited that Steak And Shake finely came to our area so my family and. I ate here yesterday and I'm sad to say it was our worse experience ever at a Steak And Shake, we had a sweet waitress and had no problem with her we were seated quickly but after ordering ordering our food it took 45 minutes to get it to our table which is the longest wait time I've ever received at any Steak and Shake many people that came in 30 minutes after us got there food just immediately after we did. our Burgers chili and fries we're cold when it was delivered to our table which I'm assuming had been sitting in the kitchen for a while before being delivered to us ,when we ask for silverware we were told by waitress that they didn't have any rolled so they couldn't get us any silverware. The chili didn't even taste like Steak and Shake chili and had no seasoning it tasted watered down and the crackers were stale. So even though I'm glad to have a steak and shake here it's going to have to greatly improve or it's going to hurt the Steak and Shake name of course we could have come at a bad time and had an unusually bad experience I'm not sure but honestly if this was my first experience at Steak and Shake I'm not sure that I would ever go back to one again. normally Steak and Shake has some of my favorite food around so I really hope this problem can be corrected maybe it's just because it's so new and they're working out the Kinks I'm not sure but at this point I won't be in any big hurry to go back there because our experience was so bad. We live an hour north of Tupelo, but had been anticipating the opening. We traveled after church with my family. We knew that there would be a wait with it being a new restaurant so that was no problem. We sat down and the waitress came over after about 10 minutes or so (still okay because the place was packed) and took our drink order. We went ahead and ordered our meals. This was at 1:15ish. Keep in mind there was 4 adults and 3 kids. At 1:45, the waitress brought our food out, but was missing my nephews (he is 7) kids burger. She looks down completely unaware, and we tell her that his food is missing. She claims that they forgot it, then looks at the receipt and says I’ll go get it. 15 minutes go by and still no burger. 20 minutes go by and STILL no kids burger. Yet, the other waiters are coming out of the kitchen left and right delivering other tables food, which majority of them were... you guessed it BURGERS. At this point, the waitress has started to avoid us. We all fed Cade out of our plates and I myself ate a few fries while we waited for his KIDS burger. At 2:20, the table behind us finally catches the manager to tell her what is going on because no one will come by. No apology given, no explanation given, the waitress finally brings the kids plate out. 45 minutes after our table received their food and several other tables received burger after burger. The waitress tried to blame it on the kitchen. There was never an apology from the manager and a very unapologetic one from the waitress one time. She came by and said “so did y’all get everything? Here’s your check” and walked off. Again, I knew it would be busy, I knew there would be some kinks to work out, but there is no excuse to make a child wait 2 hours for his small burger when everyone around us received there’s during...

I love Steak 'n Shake. Never had an issue at any I have ever eaten at. We decided to try the one in Tupelo, Ms tonight and what a let down. The waitress was awesome the food came out pretty quick and was as expected but the milk shakes did not come out until long after we had finished eating. When they did they were not in the normal tall glass they were in to go cups much smaller than the normal glass ones. We questioned the waitress as to why and she said they didnt have any clean glasses. This was shortly after 8pm and all the kitchen staff was cleaning up for the night, removing filters in the venthood ect. The on duty manager came over at our request and told us the to go cups held the same 22 ounces as the glasses did. Well I wonder how you put 22 ounces in a 18 ounce cup. He told us if we got more at other steak n shakes he would recomend us going there or there was a McDonalds down the street and we should go where we got the best deal. We were shocked. Nobody was angry here just explaining we did not get what we paid for. He was dressed more like a janitor than a manager with his shirt untucked and hanging nearly to his knees. I ask our waitress how long she had worked there and she said 1 month. She agreed with our complaint but her hands were tied. Before spending your money at this particular establishment read all the reviews on this place.
