Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Union City

My overall review of this place is only 2 stars, It was However Almost 3 stars because of the Following: Last week on friday , Right after I usually get off of work, the Decision was unanimous - HABIT Burgers. Cheerfully , we decided on the Union Landing Location Because of it is closer to home. Upon entry to this establishment, The self order kiosks' were unavailable, No problem, Well just order at the Counter. Originally we could not decided what we wanted, there were lots of very good choices. However I did notice that the Restaurants Music atmosphere made me look around and do a double take , The music was something like what is called a "Cumbia"? OK so- I got vibes of a Different restaurant and for whatever reason I thought that maybe they also had a Fresh Salsa Bar, OK so, perhaps it was just part of some music stream, or so I thought, But after the song ended, then some mariachi song came on, and another and another.. Wait a second, Is this the type of thing you hear at a place like this, I'm sorry, but personally it just doesn't fit the Habit image, Unless the Menu contained Mexican Cuisine? or was there some super secret menu that I wasn't aware about.? Anyway, the music Continued song after song after song, Now my taste for hamburgers had gone completely gone south and to boot the gentleman got my order wrong, I told the gentleman specifically, the menu stated a 'Double Char 'MEAL'- "WITH CHEESE", Yes I want "THAT"meal please. I was taken by surprise, It was only the price of a Hamburger?, Wait... No fries? No Drink? .. Dang it, He didn't charge me for a Meal? OK, Now I was completely and Utterly peeved, after going thru all that, beforehand, with this young man arguing with me that Cheese is 90 cents extra , OK so , He did make it right, and gave me the other items for free, But it seems to be the norm, On many occasions, have had the same experience. I don't know, Perhaps we should of gone to the Pacific Commons Location Instead at the very least the music will fit the theme of...

UPDATE: The link that was sent below to me you have to have a copy of the receipt and that went into the trash with the cold fries. To be honest, I will not be returning to the Union City Habit Burger again.

I have eaten at other locations where the food is great and the employees work towards making the visit pleasant and the lines are long. Castro Valley for instance was well run when it first opened, but I haven't been there in several years, but the lines used to be out the door. The Union City management should visit a well run store and implement good practices.

I am not sure why I continue to eat at this location as the French fries are never hot and the employees are not friendly.

In the past when I brought the French fries back to the counter because they were cold, I was told that they are not cold. I did not cause a scene by arguing, but I was not happy when the employee touched the food to feel the temp. Yuck!

On this visit the fries were not hot, but I wasn't about to go back to the counter. There was no ketchup in the dispenser and the employee looked like I was bothering her when I brought the fact up that the ketchup was out and she was put out to get the packets of ketchup.

With the high prices of this restaurant, unfriendly employees and cold food I will not return. I have been here about 10 times and the experience never changes.

The music sometimes is also unacceptable with rap that is blasting. Please play music that is a acceptable at a low level of sound.

Please get management that cares at this location as I know how good the food can be when cooked by...

I have to say, every visit is as enjoyable as the last. The quality of their food is consistently top-notch, and their service never disappoints.

I've tried quite a few things on the menu, and it's hard to pick a favorite. Their Charburger with Cheese is always a reliable choice. It's cooked to perfection and has that unique charbroiled flavor that sets it apart from other burgers. The garlic-parmesian fries are a must-try side dish - they were absolutely awesome during my last visit.

Another highlight is their Fantastic Chicken. It's juicy, flavorful, and so satisfying. You can tell that they use fresh ingredients, which really makes a difference in the taste. I also love their Green Beans - they're perfectly cooked and add a nice touch of green to the meal.
