The Marketplace Eatery — Restaurant in Upper Merion Township

I've been here twice and had the salad bar both times so my review is strictly on that.

My first impression was the salad bar staff. They're not friendly or welcoming. They didn't greet my friend and I and seemed impatient when we were ordering even though it was only us two in line.

The first time I ordered a custom salad and the second time I got a chicken caesar. Both were alright, large portions but not worth $10+ for something that's mostly lettuce.

The chicken caesar was considered a Specialty salad and when I asked if I could get tomatoes instead of kale, the lady told me no. She said I could add the tomatoes for an extra price but I couldn't swap out a veggie for another veggie. Seriously??

It was very wonderful. Though the prices are quite up there, it is pretty similar to the prices that would be of Shake of Shack except the menu is much more diverse. My partner and I ordered their quesadilla and Texas beef burger which we attest to be very well done and well made. The flavor and texture was pretty immaculate. There are many diverse choices for anything you're in the mode for from salads, to lunch, fruit, a BLT, and so much more. I'd suggest being a little bit bold and exploring their menu. Some of the staff also speaks Spanish so I encourage those who visit and who are also Spanish speakers to give them the same warm welcome that they'd give to you. It’s really a shame because the food is good, but the staff is so rude!!!! These men will give the dirtiest looks if you give any specifications or edits to your order or ask for anything more or less! Regardless that you’re paying. I work in the mall, so I’ve visited so many times. The woman is kind. But that’s it! They make me never want to spend my money here, again. I stopped for months because of the terrible service, popped in today, and yet again, they reminded me to never come back this time. Goodbye yummy chicken sandwiches & fries! I need more...
