Hugo Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Utah

I had never been in before and wanted to pick up a bag of local beans and ended up grabbing a syrup as well. While I was at it I asked if they had pumpkin spice yet and the cashier said yes so I ordered a hot pumpkin spice latte. After 5 -8 minutes of waiting they finally told me they didn’t have the ingredients and the cashier recommended something else (maple?). Cashier was very nice but the barista seemed like she didn’t know how to make any of the drinks. The barista took another 5-8 minutes to make my latte while every order after me was finished and a lady who got a bad drink got hers remade all in the time I was waiting. The whole ordeal took way longer than I expected and I mistakenly didn’t try the drink before I left because it was just so disappointing. While I was waiting I also noticed the lady making the sandwiches/bagels kept the same gloves on while she touched the door to bring food outside and then touched a bagel/prepared the food. Not great food handling. Overall pretty disappointing but I’m hoping I enjoy the beans...

So disappointed in this coffee shop. We came to try the advertised s’mores latte. The barista had no idea what we were referring to and was unable to offer a suggestion. I ended up getting a frappe, which was complete liquid (as opposed to blended ice) and did not represent the flavor I ordered. We also bought a chocolate chip cookie and cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was given to us cold straight out of the cooler. No option to heat up was offered. We were given an oatmeal raisin cookie, not the chocolate chip we ordered. When I returned the cookie, she informed me they were out of what I ordered. I asked for a refund, no one knew how to issue a refund, so she suggested we get something else. We did not really want anything but settled on an ice cream sandwich we ended up throwing away. Furthermore the service was slow and the tables were dirty. I chose this coffee shop because I loved the way they incorporated their love of dogs with people and coffee. The shop itself is very nice and is connected to the visitor center. My husband ordered a hot mocha and lemon poppyseed cake slice. I ordered a hot moose track mocha and I bought a beanie. My hubby loved the cake slice and we finally got our coffees. I initially tasted mine and all I got was milk and almond (moose track was almond, chocolate and caramel- if I remember correctly). It was a bit hot to drink so we headed back on the road and I continued to drink more. I realized that all I could taste was almond and milk and I wasn’t sure if there was any espresso/coffee in my drink. My husband said he only tasted espresso with a hint of milk. We mixed the two together and it almost tasted perfect. Overall, the place was nice and it seemed really busy when we got there. If we pass through again, I will try this...
