I was really excited to go to Loco Lizard Mexican Restaurant with my wife, but when I got inside we were lead to a table that was right next to a family and we felt like we were right in their lap since the tables were so close together. I'm not a picky man but my dander was up when I saw the place empty but placed right next to one of two full tables. I asked to be moved and was not pleased with the way the tables were placed and how dark the section we were in was. Hmmmm... am I really that picky? I was picky here, not sure why... the vibe? We finally settled into a table where we had good lighting and a good view to the outside. We ordered and then waited for our food with a good bowl of chips and salsa. Delicious! Loved it. When the food came, I had 3 street tacos and my wife, Jeni, had a tostada. I love sauces but when I asked for more salsa, another small bowl of salsa came to the table. Well, I used it all and then wanted more. The waiter was not anywhere to be seen until I was almost done eating. Good food, but for me, I wanted more salsa. I suppose I could have got up and found him but I was hungry, lazy and expected to see him at any moment. Well, when we were done, he did show up with the bill and when we were leaving we saw many of the staff standing around the corner talking, laughing and not doing anything. Hmmm. Since I have been rating the places I go to because it's fun to do and since most places have excellent service, I suppose I have become a bit more picky since I have become more aware of what service I like and what I am expecting. Thanks Loco Lizard... keep up the good work and make sure that those of us who come early are still expecting great...
Read morePark city is a tough place for good food, but this spot was a surprisingly delicious spot.
I’ve been in PC for years and expected bland food so I skipped going here, and now I’m bummed I waited so long.
I was met by the chef, with such a big smile. I find out later he is part owner and his name is Adam. Then I meet my fun and super warm server Christine. If you see my other posts I rarely call out names. I mainly like when the services good even before you get the check and they start putting a show on for the tip. This was plain and simple great service.
I was offered an pork salsa Roja option , but I didn’t go with that one. The rice was so amazing. It’s not that rice box rice that you get at most Mexican Restaurants. I actually do like like Alberto’s rice but this scratch or tasted like it. It was so good and there was corn and real vegetables in it and onions.
I got a burrito with red sauce and the sauce was so flavorful, almost like mole.
Meat was tender and so flavorful I didn’t need sauces.
The sauces were decent and they have a pico de gallo style habanero salsa that was pretty good . I prefer a non chunky salsa roja for my spicy chip option but the green sauce was really good and so is the habanero sauce so I can’t really complain
Prices are comparable actually to other spots in the Kimball Junction area, and even though I love Leonardo’s, despite was about the same and had better ambience, obviously, but I love Leonardo’s .
Definitely do not go to that bland spot that has the cars in it, come here! Oh...
Read moreA friend recommended Loco Lizard and we were so glad we visited. I started with a Cucumber/Jalapeño margarita, which Becca made special for me as it is actually a blend of two on the menu. I loved the cool of the cucumber with the heat of the jalapeño. My wife ordered a Mahi Taco and a Shrimp Taco, (she loved them!), while I chose the Tres Maria Burrito. It was HUGE. From left to right was perfectly cooked chicken. The middle was juicy pork carnitas with Wagyu beef Barbacoa on the right. The burrito stood literally 3 inches tall, topped with Salsa Verde, Salsa Rosa and smothered with melted cheese. It was more like an enchilada on steroids than a burrito and hands down, the best I've ever had! Christina stopped by to check on us and I wanted a shot of tequila. Christina asked if I had ever had Wahaka Mezcal, (I had not) and she said it had a smokey flavor. It was quite different from other Tequila/Mezcals I've had and really good. Still eyeing the margarita menu, Christina suggested the Tamaridno. It was a flavor bonanza with sweet & spicy Chamoy on the rim. What a treat. Becca came by and asked how we liked everything and I told her it was all so good and filling that I needed a hammock! We could have stayed all day but needed to catch the bus. I owe my friend big time for turning us on to this hidden gem! Big love to Becca and Christina for a...
