Experience - Pepi's Bar & Restaurant is a Austrian Style Restaurant with a slight American twist. The host was fairly accommodating but it did seem a bit unwelcoming especially with our family being young and large (2AD 5, 2, 5mo.) The waiter laid a big plastic tablecloth down under our daughters' chair when we sat on the patio, which was the first time anyone has done that in any restaurant I have been in. This is why the point reduction. It's an outdoor patio. Use a broom and mop at the end of the day. I understand the logistics but it is a bad practice in regards to customer relations. Ambience - I can't speak to peak evening hours or ski season but when we went in the summer there was ample space and no wait. The patio was enjoyable with the mountain views and fresh air. The interior has a europeanesque feel to it and wood floors and photos all over the walls. Staff - The staff was knowledgeable but not extremely accommodating. The more I ordered the more he must have seen the tip opportunity grow because the service changed after the first drinks were ordered. Amenities - Pepi's is an attractive restaurant with a covered deck, tables, and a full bar. Great for couples individuals, and small groups. Based on our experience maybe not a great family location choice though they do have high chairs. Value - Pepi's is a good value for the food and dining experience. Expect to spend between $25 to $50 if you are hungry and want a drink. Panda Power Meal - The Hungarian Goulash Soup is a great starter and a high recommendation. Try the Wiener Schnitzel and a good glass of wine or hefty beer. My Tip=%12

We got to Vail on a Friday afternoon and were hungry. This was the first burger place we searched up. We got seated right away, but it was crowded. Pepi's has a full bar with excellent selections of whiskey. Some good scotches and bourbons, and a good wine list. They have some good bottled beers and drafts, with some local craft choices. They have tea and Pepsi products. They have a diverse menu, with soup and salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and pni paninis. The Hamburger is about as good the name. It's plain, and they're about six toppings you can add for $1.50 a piece. The burger is preformed and probably cooked from frozen, and served on a brioche bun. Fries are included, which are battered. Ketchup and mustard were brought to the table. One of my companions ordered fish tacos, and gave an excellent review, as it featured fresh pico de gallo. Another dinner ordered the Reuben and said it was tasty. Service was attentive, and the check came all on one ticket. We split it up ourselves and the server took our cards accordingly. For an extra star on the review she could have at least asked if it was going to be separate checks.

I went here for lunch. My order consisted of pepi's house salad and a cup of Hungarian goulash soup. Both dishes were yummy. Please keep in mind, the balsamic dressing on the house salad is very sour! That's not a bad thing, but may not be for everyone. The mandarin oranges, avocado, and candied walnuts made it bearable by giving it slight sweetness. The Hungarian goulash soup was nice and tasty; however, the cup portion is very small - much smaller than most places. Of course, each dish was more on the expensive side. The cup of soup alone was $13. This place is in Vail, CO so the cost wasn't much of a surprise - very on par with every other dining establishment in the area. The food came out very quick and all the servers at the restaurant were attentive - they constantly refilled my water, which is super nice because I go through water cups very quickly and it was a hot day! I like the ambiance and location of the restaurant. Nice place to people watch while listening to the background noise of Vail Village and enjoying some good food.

We had a table of only 6 this evening where the waitress took our order, she took everyones food order but mine. After she brought the food out 10 minutes later “literally” the next time she came to the table she said mine was next. “I said but you forgot to even take my order”. So she took my wing order and 1 min to the T everyone I was with their meals came out and the wings where soggy on one of the orders and raw “literally raw” on the other ( still frozen on the inside) so I went up to the waitress and told her I wanted mine sauce on the side and extra well done because the others went cooked. Her response was” I already put the order in” I asked her to go tell them because I saw her just log it and there was no way they even started the wings. I told her I would even pay for a double batch if those previous wings were already in process that I wanted those actually well done. Our group watched her and she never saw her walk back to the kitchen or enter anything on the computer to make sure the meal was correct. She brought out my first set of wings after everyone else had finished their meals and the chicken wings were completely “cold and raw” when I bit into the middle of them. I sent them back and told the waitress I wanted them well done and to please bite into the middle of one so she could see they were actually raw. “She refused and used words that I choose not to say on social media. She bought out another batch again very cold in the center so I sent them back and the waitress just rolled her eyes. I’ve been to this establishments 6 years in a row and own 3 condos on the same street and it’s truly a shame that we can’t get decent food and service bar in this town. I brought 146 of my employees in town for an event this weekend and had a lot of complaints beyond just my experience this weekend….. so we’ll be posting all of them over the next few weeks unless I get a call from the owner. Aka we still gave the waitress 20% after all the issues,

Also we went to the Red Lion after all of this and had a great time and the food absolutely excellent. The BLT was one of the best and the waitstaff was all great. We spent another $800 in just one night that Pepsi would have gotten with just our 6 top...

I recently had a rather disappointing experience at Pepis bar and restaurant, and I'd like to share my feedback. Let me begin with my observations about the service in the bar area. Our waiter took an unusually long time to take our order, and when our appetizer finally arrived, it was in poor condition, with no silverware provided. Despite these setbacks, we decided to give the place a chance as we had heard great things about their menu.

The second disappointment came when we interacted with the hostess, who was anything but accommodating. She somewhat rudely directed us to the front area, explaining that she needed to check her computer. Her approach was far from hospitable, and there was no need for her to raise her voice.

What surprised me further was that, after we finally got our table, we overheard other customers discussing the hostess's impolite behavior. It was clear that this was not an isolated incident.

Our server, while not as rude as the hostess, had her moments. Things were going relatively well until I requested a favor. I found myself unable to finish my meal, and I wanted to either cancel my last order or request a to-go container. Her response was less than welcoming; her facial expression seemed to convey a sense of frustration and hostility, which made the experience even more unpleasant.

I must, however, extend my compliments to the chef. The food was truly outstanding, a testament to their culinary skills. However, the overall dining experience was marred by the subpar service.

I now understand why there might be a lack of reviews for this establishment. As my dining companion and I left the restaurant, we encountered others who had dined there and they too shared our sentiments. While the food at Pepis is undoubtedly noteworthy, the service leaves much...

The concierge at our hotel made a reservation for us at Pepi's so that we could sit outdoors and watch the fireworks on July 4th and to celebrate my father's 75th birthday. Our reservation was at 7:30 with an expected firework show to start at 9:30. We let our server know we would like to take our time but that we'd take care of him. We ordered crab cakes which were just okay and to be expected for Colorado. Then we sat for 40 minutes without any sign of our server and without any offers of refills for our drinks or to even ask how our appetizer was. After asking the bus boy twice if he could send over our server to order dinner he finally showed up. I totally gave him the benefit of doubt that it was the 4th of July and he got sat all at once but the poor service continued throughout the entirety of the meal. Dinner was just mediocre at best. But the kicker was that although the reservation was made especially for my dad's 75th birthday, they made no special acknowledgement for his birthday. I asked if we could get some kind of dessert with a candle to celebrate his birthday and they said all they could offer was a scoop of vanilla ice cream- and then they charged us for it! Look, I don't mind Paying $3.50 for a scoop of ice cream for my Dad's 75th birthday but I was shocked at the lack of hospitality and the principle of it. Even Denny's comps birthday dessert lol, and this is Vail, Colorado we're talking about it. All this to say we won't be returning to Pepi's ever again and would never recommend it to anyone we know. I'm super disappointed that on such a special day, they couldn't deliver, not even a little bit. But I guess all the other reviews don't lie and we should have know better. Memories were made elsewhere today and sadly is did not include my Dad's 75th...
