⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FINALLY... the pinball pub we searched 2,000 miles for — in our own backyard!
After road-tripping through Idaho and Montana the last two weeks asking “Where’s a bar with pinball?”— and getting nothing but “Hmmm, that would be cool...” — we were starting to think the dream didn’t exist.
And then we get home to Old Town Vancouver, USA, and BAM 💥 — Silverball Social Club appears like a neon-lit mirage sent from the gods of fun, fried cheese curds, and multiball mayhem.
This place is a game-changer (pun intended). It's $12 for unlimited play — yes, UNLIMITED — and the lineup is 🔥. From the slick new Pulp Fiction machine (my favorite) to the retro classics, this place is a pinball lover’s paradise- and all the machines are dialed!
And the menu?
Next level.
We shared the Chaos Multi-Dogs (go Flaming Dog if you're brave), got down with crispy shrooms, and capped it with a deep-fried Uncrustable like we were kids again — but with drinks in hand. 🍹
Pro tip: try “Ruh Roh!” if you’re a horchata fan or “Attack Roll” if you’re into bourbon. They nailed the vibe.
Best part?
It's on the same block I saw ET at as a kid! The iconic Kiggins Theater, making it the perfect pre- or post-show hang.
Kelyn and I are already dreaming up league nights... so if you're into pinball, pints, and hanging with your community, drop a comment — let's make it happen.
Big love to Silverball for bringing this vision to life. See you by the...
Read moreAmazing new addition to downtown Vancouver! The aesthetic of the bar is really cool, they clearly paid attention to how it would feel to sit in, it's definitely someplace you can get some good photos while offering plenty of comfortable spots. shout-out to the hidden corner booth.
The food was pretty good, I was worried based on other reviews but the food in our order was universally tasty with just some minor nitpicks. The cornbread was tasty but I would honestly prefer it just straight up warm because it was very quality and being cold robbed it of some oomf. The deviled eggs were good but I would like it better if it had the creme fraiche and caviar from the cornbread instead of the tomato sauce. Still very tasty! Star food we got was the Mac n cheese which has a great flavor and the cook on the pasta was perfect.
Both drinks were delicious (we got the nature finds a way and pacman).
The pinball area is the highlight. We went on a Monday so it wasn't crowded and it was 12 dollars for unlimited play all day. If you aren't aware, they have basically most of the top 20 pinball machines of all time. Just a bunch of quality machines!! Either the owners love pinball or were smart enough to Google "what are the best pinball machines" before buying a bunch. My favorites are medieval madness and Godzilla! I can't wait to come back and do a double feature...
Read moreThis place has such awesome potential for Vancouver but on a Saturday night for our first time in it's confusing how to navigate, the service was suuuuper slow, and we could only grab one machine! The good: atmosphere was dope, music was great, and a pretty good selection of pinball machines.
The meh or bad: There were about 6 machines down and a fairly sizable crowd of people that paid $12 for a wrist band just to wait and stoop over others playing to try and get in. We spent a good hour inside on the one machine we could get and played 12 games, which was solid, but we could have played the same game down the street at Hungry / Thirsty Sasquatch for $9 instead of $24.
We came for food too but there was definitely not enough seating for the size of the space and crowd. With no door man to limit people inside or track how many wristbands sold VS people inside it's a mad house. Would maybe try again in the afternoon or a weekday night but another time like this and I'd rather drive to Ground Kontrol. Altogether $56 for two drinks + tip and 12...
