Belvedere Coffee Shop & Diner — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

A high temperature of 79F on November 9th, so my friend and I decided to head to the boardwalk for breakfast and a walk. We loved the old Belvedere and were anxious to try the new location. We arrived just before 8 a.m. and the main door to the diner was locked and entry was thru the hotel. We entered the diner and the booths were either occupied or required cleaning from the last customers. We sat at the counter. The waitress showed up without an order pad or pen to take our drink order as well as the couple next to us. She provided us water and I had asked for coffee with cream. She brought it back quickly. We and the couple next to us ordered. There were two cooks. Their pace may have been slower since it is not tourist season but they were attentive to the orders. I ordered the pancake breakfast ($14): 2 pancakes, 2 eggs scrambled, hash browns, 3 sausage links, and white toast. I let my friend try the pancakes and she loved them - perfect, a must order next time for her. No loss of food prep from the old location, The food is tops #1. The staff I'm mixed on. Booths not cleared, not prepared to take orders, no sense of urgency to prepare orders; however, friendly and the breakfast served was delicious. Visited VA Beach the 1st week of April. The entire week I just wanted a hearty breakfast, not some hotel bagels, waffles and cereal. Halfway through my week, I had to try something. After searching the strip, I decided to send my daughter over to Moxy to try out Belvedere (To Go). This was the best breakfast we had our entire week on the beach. The food was prepared just as ordered. In the pic is the breakfast bowl I had. The grits were a side order, but I dumped it into the box with the bowl. This bowl was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned really well; even the cheese grits was tasty. My daughter had the French toast, also with a side of grits (pictured as well). Scrambled eggs and sausage. Everything tasted phenomenal and the prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive. My husband and I celebrated his birthday at Moxy in Virginia Beach. This was just by chance, and we loved everything about it. We stopped at the Belvedere for breakfast and the staff was friendly, funny attentive, and just an absolute delight. Shout out to our new breakfast spot when in Virginia. This is the staff that made it all possible with their superb service. Maegan the manager on point, food popping, love her.
