The Bunker Brewpub — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This was our first meal here in Virginia beach and the the food here was just stonking good. Every thing we had was just on a different level from your average pub food.

The food here is just elevated by textures and flavors and its just absolutely over the top as you eat and savor it.

The eggrolls combined the familiar flavors of tex mex with the crisp crunch of an asian eggroll and then you just get carried away with the garlic cilantro dipping sauce. Nothing was over powered and the texture and flavors just blended so well as you eat through the generous 6 1/2 pieces of eggroll.

We got two tacos the chicken bacon ranch and sweet potatoe with pasta salad and asparagus. Both were delicious in their own right. The sweet potatoe tacos were excellent. I thought going into this the chicken taco was going to be your average flavor profile but I was just plain flabbergasted when I took my first bite. It was an elevated flavor profile of extra crispy chicken, crispy bacon, all transported in a tortilla with a sweet honey sauce and fillings. The crispy bacon and chicken just melded together with the sauce, filling, and tortillas creating one of the best tacos Ive ever had. It reminded me of Japanese karagi chicken on a taco.

Finally, came dessert a delicious lemon and strawberry cobbler. And ironically I don't really care for lemon or strawberries but it was just a delight. The thing was it was a hint of lemon in the topping assisting the strawberry in a warm delicious bite that then gets contrasted by the creamy cold vanilla ice cream. Everything together was just elevated and divine coming from someone who has absolutely no allegiance to any dessert that contains lemon.

All while enjoying these we got to sip on their cherry seltzer and ciders. The meal we had was absolutely top tier for a restaurant and the person who came up with their menu had to have put some real careful thought into it. I had the pleasure of having a reception for my husband's retirement at this business, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Sammy, the person in charge of reservations, was incredibly helpful and responsive, addressing all our questions and even meeting with us to show us the venue and answer more questions.

One thing that really stood out to us was their attention to detail when it came to accommodating a family member with a food allergy. They took great care to ensure that there was no cross-contamination with seafood, which gave us peace of mind.

On the day of the event, we arrived early and were impressed with how well the bar tender handled the large crowd. The level of customer service provided by the staff was truly exceptional.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely delicious! We opted for the sliders, and they were a big hit with everyone. The chicken tenders and accompanying sauces were also incredibly flavorful and tasty. We received numerous compliments from the attendees about how good everything tasted.

Not only was the food outstanding, but they also had a great variety of beers to choose from, catering to different preferences.

Overall, our experience at this business was beyond our expectations. We are now loyal customers and will definitely be returning. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. My words truly do not do justice to the exceptional...

Burrito had high hopes which were dashed fairly quickly. Our server was inattentive at best. However, most disturbingly, we watched our loaded fries come out with another couples’ order, sit with food in the middle of the restaurant while they tried to figure out where they were going, and then they were given to the wrong table. We then watched as they took them back, not only from that couples’ table, but back across the line. Then, when they finally put together that they belonged to us, they brought us those same fries that we watched travel all over the restaurant. To his credit, the guy admitted it, and we asked for new ones, obviously. However, when this happens, we always wonder, were they really new? Did they just reheat them, etc. the burger was good, but nothing special for $14. The star was the side baked mac, but the baked top could have been baked longer. The fries could have also been fried much harder. They were mushy and limp when they came out as a side. Also, this is apparently a music venue too, and they did not cut off the restaurant music when then hall music started up 🤯😤. You also have to walk through the music venue to get to the bathrooms.
