When my cousin and I came, it was pretty busy. We were seated right away by a waitress, but I forgot her name. She had short brown hair and glasses. She asked if we wanted to sit on the high table or wherever. After we chose a spot and sat down, she gave us the menu and asked if we've been here before. I haven't, but my cousin has, so we didn't need explaining.
We started off with onion rings. For our main course meal, we got the Preset Bucket and the House Bag, which was $20. It comes with 1/2 ounce crawfish, muscles, shrimp, and clams. All of them come with complimentary corn, sausage pork, and baby red potatoes. There's no substitution; you can take out, but you can't replace it. We got to pick our seasoning and I got the House Magic Dust; which is a combination of Rajun Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter. After you pick your seasoning in the bag, you'll pick what kind of heat/spice level you want. I got the Entry (hot, but not too much) and my cousin got the Lava Flow (which you have to pay extra and sign a waiver).
The waitress told us that the cook is new, so the food may come out slower. When she brought our water out, she kept checked on us and brought out hot, fresh, and crispy onion rings. They were perfect! She kept letting us know that the food is coming soon. We weren't mad because we understood, even though the food did take a long time to come out (it was busy after all).
We finally got our food and she thanked us for waiting. In addition, she gave us extra Snow Crab Legs. We didn't get the corn, but that's okay because I'll take the Snow Crab Legs instead. I asked for gloves to eat with since this can get messy. She came out with 2 bags with buckets, one of them had all the sauce and the other for the shells. The seasoning inside the bag was flavored just right. My cousin asked for the hot seasoning/sauce on the side, so she can dip instead. I decided to try it and I was choking because it was super hot. It was extremely spicy for me, I had to chug my water. They weren't kidding that it was hot.
The waitress kept checking on us and refilling our water. She made our experience much better than what it could have turned out to be. In the end, she said whatever we had left, we could take home.
I would definitely come back again because the seafood and onion rings were amazing. The wait was longer than I'd like, but it was busy and there was only one cook (who was new), so what can you expect? I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience....
Read moreI have been going to Crustacean since they opened and service was always Excellent along with the food. Yesterday on 7/22/17, myself,my sister and Mom stopped in to get a bite to eat. We arrived to a line out the door. We waited 25 minutes in line before we finally asked a server what was going on and to just tell us the wait time. She was extremely rude and nasty telling us to just wait and we did, however after she told us to wait, she started cleaning tables and booths for the remaining customers in line. Alot of people walked out and left because there was no communication between staff and customers. I asked to speak to a Mgr and there was not one available. Once we were seated, she told us in a very nasty tone that we would have to wait another 25 minutes for a server because the tables wasn't assigned. I went to the bar to get us some Sweet Tea and found a very patient and busy server name Josh. Josh bought our drinks to the table and took our order after waiting 25 minutes. He was courteous and very apologetic about the level of service. I ordered By The River and after receiving my food it was cold, barely anything in the bag, bags are definitely smaller with less food, crab legs was mushy and over seasoned but we was starving at that point. My sister's order arrived with no type of seaoning. I also ordered Coops Combo to go and it was Awlful. The crab legs were mushy and it was extremely salty and with very few shrimps. My mom's food was salty, cold and she couldn't eat the rest. I again requested a Mgr but was told there was none available. If the staff or host would have communicated with the customers and expressed that there was some major issues, things might not have been so bad. I fully understand that this is a very Popular spot to eat, and there have been times in the past where we waited but not 25 minutes. Customer Service is very important and there was none yesterday and the food was just not at the level that is to be expected. Josh, Thank you for all that you did and your customer service was Stellar. Even in the mist of all the chaos, limited servers, long wait for food, customers complaining, customers walking out, you were still smiling and...
Read moreBeing from Louisiana I was exited to find out about this place that my wife found on Facebook. Upon arriving around 6:00pm we were seated right away. Our waitress while friendly seemed lost. She ask us what we wanted to drink and after we played the guessing game for several minutes she seemed to remember that there was a beverage menu we could look at. After that we moved to what we would like to eat. There was an assortment of seasonings offered and while there was a brief description in the menu it left you wondering. We rolled the dice picked our seasoning and ordered . My wife had crab legs two pounds which amounted to two clusters. She also ordered their rendition of Gumbo. I order Crawfish. Each order arrived in a timely fashion in plastic bags????. Her crab legs where small and had legs missing from each cluster. The gumbo was a brown roux with little substance poured over a helping of rice. Both of our orders where supposed to have potatoes sausage and corn. Each had two pieces of sausage a half inch long one small new potatoes cut in half and a half piece of corn. My crawfish were very small and had lots of legs and claws mixed in as if they scraped the bottom of the pot to fill my order. Everything was saturated in garlic. My wife had to ask for a cracking device and a picking fork this seemed to confused our waitress. This task took sometime to complete . She returned and explained that she only had one fork and the only other devise she had which she could not find was a crab picking fork that came from Joes crab shack. We never mind paying for quality food and service however this place fell short of our expectations. I am disappointed to say that we will not return. I will find it hard to recommend this restaurant. Sorry.......Oh and they do not have...
