Epic Night Out: Brayan, Ybronna, and Charles at Togo Day Chow – Pure Bartending Bliss!
I am still riding the high from an absolutely stellar evening at Togo Day Chow's bar last Friday night, and I have to share this with the world because if you haven't experienced the wizardry of Brayan, Ybronna, and Charles yet, you're seriously missing out. My partner and I popped in for what was supposed to be a quick pre-dinner drink, but we ended up staying for three hours, mesmerized by their talent, charm, and the kind of cocktails that make you question why you ever settled for anything less. Togo Day Chow – with its vibrant, eclectic vibe of neon signs, street-art walls, and that irresistible hum of good times – is already a favorite spot, but this trio elevated it to legendary status. Five stars? Try five galaxies!
Let's start with Brayan, the charismatic powerhouse who greeted us like long-lost friends right from the jump. With his infectious energy and encyclopedic knowledge of spirits, he nailed our first round: the "Daybreak Daiquiri," a zesty masterpiece of white rum, fresh passionfruit puree, lime, and a hint of chili-infused honey. It was bright, bold, and perfectly chilled – like sunshine in a coupe glass, cutting through the evening chill without a single off-note. Brayan didn't just serve; he curated. When I mentioned craving something tropical with a kick, he customized it on the spot, swapping in coconut water for extra hydration (genius for a long night). His banter kept us laughing – stories about his global bar crawls that felt like insider secrets – making the bar feel like our personal lounge.
Then Ybronna swooped in, and oh boy, did she steal the show with her artistic precision and warm, intuitive vibe. She's got this quiet confidence that draws you in, like she's reading your soul through your drink order. She treated us to the "Chow Harmony," a silky sipper blending gin, lavender syrup, fresh blueberries, and a splash of prosecco for that effervescent lift. The garnishes? Edible flowers and a lemon twist she torched tableside for a subtle smoky aroma – it was Instagram-worthy and delicious, with layers of floral sweetness giving way to tart brightness. Ybronna's magic touch extended to non-alcoholic options too; my partner (who was driving) raved about her zero-proof "Midday Mirage," a mocktail with cucumber, mint, and sparkling yuzu that tasted like a spa day in liquid form. She remembered our preferences from the first drink and wove them into everything – talk about service with a smile!
What made this trio incredible wasn't just their individual skills; it was how they flowed together like a well-rehearsed jazz band – seamless handoffs, collaborative tweaks to recipes, and an energy that infected the whole bar. The place was buzzing but never chaotic, with fair prices ($12-15 per cocktail), speedy service, and that perfect mix of locals and newcomers. We left stuffed with small plates (those chow-inspired sliders? Divine) and souls full of joy, already planning our next visit for their weekend specials.
Brayan, Ybronna, and Charles, you absolute legends – you've turned a casual night into an unforgettable adventure. Togo Day Chow is the spot for anyone seeking top-tier mixology with heart. If you're reading this, go now. You won't regret it; I promise you'll be writing your own rave review by...
Read moreWe like to go to Fogo de Chão for different family celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries. We’ve been to several different Fogo de Chão Restaurants across the United States and it has always been A great experience. The food is consistently phenomenal the service second to none. UNTIL Last night when visited the Fogo de Chao at Tysons Corner, It was the Worse service We have encountered in any Fogo de Chão. It is really sad because we had been to this restaurant two years prior and made the observation that it was by far the best experience that we have had at any other Fogo de Chão in the past. The night started off with us being late for a reservation, which was totally our fault. I caught ahead to let them know we would be late and the young lady I spoke Said as long as we were there two hours before closing, it would not be a problem. We had a 730 reservation. We were there at 7:50 and they close at 10 o’clock when we checked in I got a smirk and a huff From the hostess. We are asked to wait over to the side until she could get to us. She cleared everybody they had come in after us while making us sit there and wait and then she sat us at a back table . If you’ve eaten a Fogo before and you’ve been in the back, you know you are the last folks to get any of the selections and a lot of times you miss out on stuff. Once seated, we had multiple people Waiting on us, which is normal, but nobody could get our order Straight. We wound up having the selection of three different meats. My wife likes her meat cooked medium to medium well we were there for 40 minutes before she was able to get her first dish of protein. At 9 o’clock, we had asked if they could bring some lamb chops and they told us there were no more and the kitchen was closing. At 9:40 when we were finished eating, someone came up to our table and asked if we wanted lamb chops (crazy) Something this Fogo has that others don’t is grilled cheese. We asked for it and waited for over an hour before it made it to our table. We decided we were done we ordered desserts to go and a box of their rolls. They acted like preparing to go desserts was a big deal and they couldn’t believe we had Asked for them. Then they tried to tell us you could not buy rolls to go. We always buy rolls to go. They’re one of my wife’s favorite things. So after going round and round with a couple people. We are able to order the rolls. They brought out our dessert and a ticket and forgot the rolls. When I asked about them, the server Looked at me and said with an attitude that would be an extra nine dollars. I told him after spending $300 on our meal. I was not worried about a nine dollar up charge. We wanted the rolls so with his attitude, he walked back to the kitchen. Got the rolls and redid our ticket. This trip was actually to celebrate two birthdays and a high school graduation and turned out to be a total nightmare. If this is how Fogo de Chão is going to run the restaurant from now on. We will find a better upscale restaurant...
Read moreI came by myself to celebrate my birthday and regretted it. When I walked in, I waited at the front for about a minute since no one was at the host stand. I figured because it was 9pm the only option was to sit at the bar. I sat at the bar and there were two bartenders, the guy had took my drink and food order. He was okay at first but then there was a little confusion on clarifying how I want my lamb chops cooked. I had said medium well and I thought I heard him say medium rare so then I said “medium rare?” And he said something in regards to you’re the person ordering it. Like a smart remark…The lamb chops and drink were fab. Then I asked for another plate of lamp chops and fries. In the meantime the other bartender, I believe her name is Yvonne checked periodically to make sure I was okay.
The problem came when he brought the lamb chops out and shortly after he had said the kitchen would be closing. I said how long will it be before the fries come out and he stated that he didn’t put an order for fries. He said I didn’t say I wanted fries and asked which kind of fries I wanted. I said never mind don’t worry about it. He then said well if you want the fries the kitchen may not be able to make it because they’re about to close and I repeat it, don’t worry about it. There was no apology and his tone was in a way that made it seem like I’m in the wrong so it made me upset and I instantly regretted coming here. The female bartender pulls them aside to see what happened and she has a lower voice, so I can’t exactly hear what she’s saying, but I can hear him saying she didn’t ask for fries. He then leaves and goes to the back for awhile and the woman bartender checked if I was okay because I was visibly upset.
He then came back and dropped off a plate of fries without saying a word. They weren’t crispy at all but warmed so it seemed like they were reheated. The woman bartender let me know that she had to mention to him that even if he didn’t hear I asked for fries he should’ve took accountability and made things right. She proceeded to ask me if there was anything else I needed. Her and the valet giving me such good service is why I put 3 stars and not 2...
