Through Google Maps search, I found this restaurant and it’s menu/website where you can order online. The menu photos show there are either 3 or 4 lunch specials. There are also 2 different pricing for them: $9.95 or $10.95. The website also includes a pizza menu.

I didn’t mind the discrepancies because they aren’t major, and my family has a small business and I understand that it can be difficult to manage online information for small businesses.

Instead of ordering online, I called the restaurant to ask for good suggestions. The man I spoke to reacted like I was asking something strange, so I just let it go and ordered a lunch special. I tried to add the gyro calzone from the pizza menu, but he said they don’t do the pizza menu anymore.

When I went to pick up the order, the man said it was $14.95 + tax. I said that that’s not right because it says online the price is either $9.95 or $10.95. Now I got fed up with all the issues and pointed out the conflicting information, lack of pizza menu that you could pay for online, etc. And he just responded with how he’s not the owner and the price changed.

Regardless of whether the price changed, he should adjust mine because I made the phone order based on the information I saw online. Then he tried to make the point that I never asked for the price on the phone. That doesn’t matter, but I said he never told me the price either. So unless I ask, then I’m walking into a trap?

I saw a plate of pizza slices and asked, so there is no pizza menu but you have pizza here? The man said that he was eating them.

After arguing with him, he called someone, I’m assuming the owner, but don’t really know because he said everything in Spanish. I did hear him call me “chica”, which is rude and offensive in this setting.

Finally, when he hung up, he was even more rude and surly than before and adjusted the price to $10.95. As he said, it isn’t him who sets the price, so why was he so combative?

I left, letting him know that this is ridiculous and I will never return.

When I opened the lunch order, I found a hair on the pita bread.

I wouldn’t usually leave a review, but I felt offended in so many ways—as a customer, as a woman, and as an Asian person—and decided to not keep quiet as is expected of...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Silk Road Restaurant in Walnut Creek, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish!

The ambiance of the restaurant is welcoming and elegant, with a perfect blend of modern décor and traditional elements that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.

The menu is a delightful journey through the rich and diverse flavors of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. The Shish Kebabs were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with a delightful chargrilled taste. The Falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with a tangy tahini sauce that perfectly complemented it. And the Baklava for dessert? Simply divine—sweet, flaky, and utterly satisfying.

What truly sets Silk Road apart, though, is the impeccable service. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every aspect of your dining experience is top-notch. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are more than happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences.

The extensive wine list and specialty cocktails also deserve a mention. We enjoyed a beautifully balanced wine that perfectly complemented our meal, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening.

Overall, Silk Road Restaurant is a gem in Walnut Creek. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or new to it, this restaurant will leave you enchanted and eager to return. Highly recommended! I hope that captures the essence of your wonderful experience at Silk...

I found this restaurant searching for "halal restaurant near me" on Google while visiting Walnut Creek. This is NOT a Halal restaurant. They serve pork, and alcohol (both are invalidating this concept). I will say it is a Mediterranean cuisine. The food was tasty. There is no easy parking on Sunday nights so good luck street parking. This was the first time we visit this restaurant. We were confused on how to enter the premises and at our arrival once of the server greet us a bit weird he said " how can I help you" confrontational tone and not very welcoming. Our server was a different person completely different approach. Friendly, very talkative and offered us plenty of information about the menu. According to this server, the chicken and lam is halal not the beef. Although if they cook pork in the grill...I didn't think it was polite to ask if they use a separate grill for the halal products. We ate the grilled salmon. Most servers speaks Spanish, and English. Other...

It is a Persian Restaurant in disguise! What I like: food was good, not spectacular but totally acceptable for a "Persian Restaurant". People were super nice. We went in with our toddler who made a huge mess immediately and we were attended with utmost friendliness. I also noticed that management was equally attentive to other customers. What I didn't like: Persian in disguise. We're proud of our cousin and Persian foods were named according to more common Mediterranean foods, which is confusing and doesnt do the justice to the dish. Like the popular Iranian eggplant dish, Kashk-o-bademjan is called babaganush and is served cold. Also I found it a bit overpriced. But, to end with a positive note, I absolutely loved their hot bread and fusion dip.
