The service here is horrible and has been horrible for years. Though people keep lambasting their service, Kruba Thai makes no effort to be better. I've been going here since they first opened, and I have finally decided that I have to spend my dollars elsewhere. If you aren't into top-notch service, then by all means, go here. But I will say, even doing pick up orders here are abysmal. They do not ever, in the 3 plus years I've frequented this place, have enough patrons to justify their extremely slow and disinterested service. Most times when I'm dining in, the waiters are more interested in soccer than serving paying customers. Today was the final straw. I called to pick up an order, I was told to retrieve it in 20 minutes. I came an half hour after my call only to be told that there would be an additional 10 minute wait. In a place that can seat -- maybe -- 80 patrons, they only had 10 in there (which I guess would classify as busy for them) but still, why would you take 40 minutes to make two rolls with not so much as an apology? I left while I'm sure they were just beginning to make my order.

Unfortunately, they will still get patrons because that's just how our society works - but truthfully this place doesn't deserve the high price they charge for their dishes - I really suggest...

Food was just OK. I order from a couple of other Thai restaurants that consistently have better dishes. However, my issues from the visit were not based on food, but the service. Overall, the atmosphere was sad. Beautiful restaurant, but no one was really there. No music or ambiance beyond the decor.

Wait staff had to be constantly waved down to get orders and assistance despite only one other table in the entire restaurant. They never came back to the table to check-in or check on drink refills after the food was delivered. We had to wave down someone other than our server on two other occasions, just to get service. When we did get our server, they did promptly refill beverages, respond to request. However, the servers never smiled or greeted us and generally gave me the impression we were inconveniencing them. They split the check and gratuity (automatically added) incorrectly on a table of 5, split 3 ways. We had to have them correct it, again waving down the bartender to get assistance from the server. I feel there is far better all around service and ambiance at other Thai restaurants near the area (Eastern Market) and moderately better food at those...

A group of us were taking a boat ride from Navy Yard so, we wanted to have dinner first. After a quick vote we landed on Thai food. We were a group of six. We were greeted and sat immediately about 5ish on a Friday night without a reservation.

Once seated our server was NOT friendly at all. I mean short and rude. I'm unsure why she was so rude since the restaurant just opened at 4:30. The menu was reasonably priced and there is quite a variety to choose from as well as sushi. I do think that it's a little unreasonable to charge an additional $4 to add broccoli to any dish😲 broccoli is just a vegetable and pretty cheap to come by. The food overall was delicious and very flavorful and they understood spice levels well.

We didn't order any drinks so I can't give my opinion on those. Of course the gratuity was included in the check since we were a party of six, but our server definitely didn't even deserve that. Overall I might order to go because the food is good, but I definitely would not sit in. We should have went to the Mexican...

I did a takeout of drunken noodles and sushi roll. Yuck. The half the noodles were stuck together with no flavor/sauce seeped in so it was just white sticky rice noodle mess with very small amount of vegetable (mainly just onion). I had tofu for protein and another yuck. The spicy California roll was just a regular supermarket quality roll with glob of watery spicy mayo. Previously fried and then just heated - texture was hard and chewy and again no flavor. I guess I should've known when the food came out in exactly 5 minutes after I placed my order that the food was going to be not so good. Don't bother with this overpriced place. There are so many fine restaurants surrounding this one.

This gem of a Thai/ Sushi restaurant was an unexpected find but I'm so incredibly grateful I stumbled upon it when walking this evening in the Navy Yard area. The staff were all friendly and constantly ensuring I was doing alright or had everything I needed. The Panang Curry was absolutely devine! Perfect level of heat, bold flavor, and delicious melding of each element. The portion was generous as well. Only negative/ drawbacks would be not allowing separate checks...because business travels make that necessary when my coworkers and I dine together. Also no refills on sodas/ most of the drinks options...but that's a solvable problem, though or not the end of the world. Lol

Food: food was great, only deduction was the chicken appetizer was extremely small for the price paid. The pineapple frid rice was really good but pricy at almost $23. About 5 pieces of juicy shrimp were in the dish as well. Kruba cashew chicken was good. Service: got there as soon as they opened for lunch so seated right away and food was quickly delivered. Atmosphere: nice but a bit dated. Many of the tables are uneven and no longer sit together flush. Ambiance was nice, Thai decor all around and wooden vibe. Final impression: very good for a quick lunch in downtown DC and head back to the office. Might be added to a regular rotation in DC lunch adventures.
